I have found it really interesting talking with other golfers about speed. A human can either post on the front leg and drive the rear mass forward and around that pivot, or the rear leg and let the mass rotate initiated by the lighter front moving out of the way. Ever pitch baseballs sidearm? Ever skip rocks on a pond? Where's that initial downswing pivot to the target? Yes, momentum will carry you forward after release of course when performed at speed and you'll be on the front leg. Watch Kyle swing and see what he, all the long drivers, all the baseball home run hitters, and all the kids good at skipping stones on a pond already know inside. Then lament the brainwashed, maybe unwilling to try, but really "unable to see" golfers you play with. Life is too short to play short shitty golf for years, if not decades or lifetimes. Hey, just my opinion, your milage may vary!

I appreciate the logic of playing the odds, but I really feel you have a potential advantage over other players because of your long game, and I would hate to see you not use it. To quote Chubbs Petersen: "people would kill to be able to hit the long ball like you, you've got an advantage over any man that walks out on to the tee." Besides advantage, its about a little more than that, at least to me. The spirit of golf is captured by someone with something new to offer, someone who brings something a little extraordinary to the game. Your long game is that very something, and the more you train to hit the greens on those par 4s, the more it could potentially pay off for you. Regarding advantage, you may just be able to obtain those strokes off the tee if you play for that game, and that may just give you the edge to outcompete the best players on the tour. If you think about it, after a long professional career, Bryson is now looking for that little extra something that you have already worked so hard to acquire. At the end of the day I'm just a rookie with an opinion, and you have played all your life and are taking advice from some of the best players and coaches in the world. But that work you've put in to be the longest should have a chance to count for those par 4s that no one else in the world could consistently reach.

Just my opinion but I feel like straddling your line to read putts should be illegal. It's in the same ball park as rolling your ball on the green to get a feel for their speed.

I noticed that you handle the misses pretty well until you get to the green, when you clearly overreact to missed putts imo. Look at pga tour stats for putting, the best in the world miss 8+ footers more than half of the time:) and from your reactions it looks like whether you miss a 6 footer or 30 footer you’re very frustrated. I think your putting is very solid but can’t expect to hole every putt, especially outside of 3-4ft, it’ll drive you crazy.
