Great video. Quick detail no BS. Love the video. But I have a question. If the driveshaft is balanced. What about replacing one? Mine broke and I was going to go to the junkyard and take one off to replace mine. Front driveshaft.

Side note: the vehicle has to be off the ground for the T-case in neutral and you being able to spin the drive shaft with your hand. If the vehicle is on the ground it's impossible to turn the driveshaft with your hand even with the T-case in neutral. Tried it myself.

If my viscous coupler in my transfer case is bad, could it sheer off the front bolts, causing my front driveshaft to just fall off from the front diff.? Everything was running just fine for about 8 months, no noises, no issues, 1,200 miles. I just don't get it. Thank you again for the videos and help.

What year is your Zj? I have a 98 5.2 and when I bought it the front drive shaft was missing. I’m going to pick a part in the morning, do you know which Zj models I can pick this part from?

I have a '96 and if the previous owner didnt swap axles you should be able to use any driveshaft from any zj model year that looks like the one in the video. People often remove the driveshaft because the transfer case is messed up and will buck and bind up when attached to a driveshaft so be aware of that as well

If I am experiencing what I believe to be some sort of drivetrain issue in 2WD (as in it vibrates at about 30MPH and goes slightly away), and the vibration almost goes away when I put in in 4WD, should I focus on the front shaft first?

Hi, I have three Grand Cherokees, 2 1995s and 1 1998 and they have the standard u=joint attachment to the front diff, what is the difference with the big bell looking hookup to the front diff. Thanks

The big bell part is the rzeppa end and acts like a CV-Joint which in my opinion offers more flexability

What I'm saying is what's the difference in the 6 bolt circle pattern and any other jeeps fork 4 bolt pattern. Cause I have 2 axles but only the ford drive shaft

Hello Barricade...I know it has been a few years since you did this video, but it was a great help to me in removing my front drive shaft in my ZJ. I was getting a short vibration, like hitting a small set of speed bumps, when accelerating uphill. It would go away as since as I lifted off the throttle. So it was suggested to remover the front drive shaft to see if that solved it. It worked! But now I have a 2 wheel drive jeep lol. Can you suggest where I might continue to look to to solve the vibration problem so I can put the shaft back in? Thanks alot..Kevin

WJ is quadratic all wheel drive, the 4-,wheel drive shifter in the video isn't the all wheel drive shifter.

It's a 5/16″ SAE bolt, and not 8mm on the driveshaft. Repeat after me, I will not use a 13mm wrench on a 1/2" bolt/nut LOL. :)
