Norway is a wonderful country. So totally different from my Philippines in many ways. I wish I could visit this Scandinavian fairyland someday.

Yes it is a lovely country, we're lucky to be able to go there every year. I would like to visit Philippines though, you have your own magical scenery. Maybe there are lovely bus trips to be done in Philippines?

@@timsharp Oh yes, we do have excellent motorways (freeways) and huge luxurious buses for you to take panoramic videos. Thanks for your respond and more power.

After hearing from you I take back the earlier comment. I'm sorry about the greed comment. I use Railcowgirl for my train rides and now I use your site for my road trips. I have subscibed to your channel. I wish I could visit Norway, but I'm too old and too broke. thank you for taking us along on your rides.

Hi David. thanks for commenting again, it's appreciated. I must admit that if I'd actually watched the video myself I would have been very annoyed at the frequency of adverts - wonder why KZbin thinks people won't complain. I'm trying to get several videos ready for the next few weeks as we are away on another adventure, so there are several more long Norway road trips on buses to come - all 4k - and all of them with less adverts! It's a fine line between making some money to help us continue the trips, and making nothing! As for being too old, I'm over 70, living on my state pension with my wife Sarah and we just budget carefully, get cheap flights to Stavanger, then relatively cheap buses all over from there. I'll have a look at Railcowgirl. I watch long trip videos when I'm on my exercise bike - makes me feel like I'm going somewhere, that's why I first started doing them myself

I take it that your partner is no longer with us - I'm sorry. Using the term social security makes me think you are from the US? Please keep in touch, I'd be interested in what you think about my next videos - whether I've got the ads right (I've taken out about 3/4 of them)

When gray shows as green choose 6000-6500 K.

I'd be interested to know what settings you think I should have used for this one. The bus had deep tinted green windows, so I reduced saturation on the green colour by -25 (I'm using Videoproc Vlogger editor and it doesn't show me kelvin scale). It looked better to me so I went with it, but perhaps I could have done much better?

@@timsharp VideoProc Vlogger has limited capabilities for post-production color correction. It's recommended to learn DaVinci Resolve (the free version is more than sufficient). If you frequently film in extreme conditions, consider getting a camera that supports RAW recording. When removing a lot of a specific color, the color resolution is significantly reduced, which can lead to artifacts.
@timsharpАй бұрын
Thanks. Yes, I have Resolve as well, but I haven't spent much time with it yet, I find VideoProc Vlogger so easy to use and stable (apart from it's many quirks), and at 70 I didn't really want to learn another program. I do miss being able to customise with macros though to speed up repetitive jobs, not sure if Resolve can do that. I will make it my new year's resolution to edit some videos in Resolve and see if I can wean myself away from Vlogger. Not sure if I could do raw recording, my videos are so long that I would probably fill the memory cards too quick and the cameras would overheat, plus my computer (a 4 year old gaming computer) only just manages to handle 4K mp4 files, I'd need a significant upgrade to do raw I think.
@Youtube_Stole_My_Handle_TooАй бұрын
@@timsharp Yes, of course, DaVinci Resolve supports macros. It's a professional tool. If you don't have time to learn it, you can use it just for color grading. However, I fail to see why you wouldn't want to learn DaVinci Resolve if you're making videos. I would consider it a must.

This was nice but it would have been better without the chit-chat.

That's the background sound, you must be referring to our infrequent talking during the journey - it's difficult to keep quiet for a whole 4 hours! Of course I could have edited the sound, but then it wouldn't be authentic!

Too many ADS........I know you have some control over this.....just makes you greedy
@timsharp3 ай бұрын
That's a harsh comment. I didn't even know you could change the ads, I just let KZbin sort them out. But, it has made me look and you are quite right, there are way too many ads on this video - the only thing I normally do is click on the monetise button, but I'll check the mid-roll ads as well now. I wondered why this video was getting more views than usual and I think it's KZbin pushing it because they've put so many ads in it. As for being greedy, so far this video has made me £36.95, it will be interesting to see if this is maintained when I remove most of the ads, as it will annoy people less and they may be encouraged to watch for longer. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, but I don't appreciate the being greedy bit! UPDATE 20 minutes later! Just spent a bit of time looking at my other videos, including new ones scheduled to go - KZbin is adding way more adverts on my newer videos than my older ones (sometimes with ads right next to each other), I will have to remember now to go through the ad placement for each long video.
