F35 in stealth mode no hard points on her wings is hot stuff. You can't see it. It disappears reappers in radar confusing missiles. It also has a towed array. That can jam missiles. More off bore missiles. Make it very dangerious. So just because you are side by side with one you may not be safe. Really impressive weaponry and stealth. Carrier friendly 😜 With the F 35 C having jump jet capabilities. Making helicopter naval ships capabable of packing a all weather bad ass gighter with Radar to sweep those airspaces. Shoot down bogies before it's presence is known. Kinda cool 😎 but I hope we don't need to use them.

For the short range, VTOL and short take off space the F-35 would be obviously the ideal choice for the Japanese national guard. That said, the F-22 would be superior in every way still if it was not classified and embargos to U.S. only. Not mentioning that there is even more superior 6th and 7th generation classified planes/drones we don't know about.

F-35 is not VTOL, it is STOVL!! Big difference. Not saying there’s not a video of it doing a VTOL takeoff but that is with zero weapons load and less than half fuel which a fighter would never operate at. Lockheed did that just to show off but the f-35b is STOVL and was never desinged or claimed to be VTOL!! Pls don’t spread misinformation Ty

I would recommend this F-35 to be more power of thrusts at 65,000 pounds, so it can load more bombs and fly faster than Russian SU-57. All of the US 5th fighter Air Crafts should fly over mach 3.5 plus and can be in the airs over 6 hours of fuels in services.

I don’t think you understand what this aircraft is meant to be doing. It doesn’t need more power non of recorded history have fighters engaged targets or done dogfighting over Mach 1.2. It’s not meant to be a direct interceptor aircraft like the SU-57 it is a multirole fighter meant more for reconnaissance, Electronic warfare, and suppression of enemy air defenses and BVR engagements with adversary’s. It’s a totally new doctrine for utilizing the aircraft in a military mission.

Go Japan :) : The (J)oint (S)trike (F)ighter { JSF } was a collaboration among several NATO Ally Nations. The program is now getting close to the Level it was projected to get to throughout it's lifetime. Individual Jet planes are getting to a cost that they hoped to get to in the initial program proposal to help bring the program to fruition. Having multiple Variations of a base model plane using common parts to all of the variations is the main purpose of the JSF program and with several nations being in the program they all would share the overall cost and have the ability to produce their own planes - Instead of all production being done by just one partner.

The F-35 is truly a huge upgrade to f-16 it can literally do everything you pointed out, but can also do SEAD, BVR engagements, ground support, Electronic Warfare, STOVAL, Sensor fusion (revolutionary) and be the quarterback in the sky directing other air assets. It was literally designed to be a better replacement for the f-16 and 4 other aircraft’s.

There is, but it sadly isn't the obvious reason. It have more to do with some idiot thinking the F-22 was too expensive so they cancelled the production after 200 planes and decided to focus on a plane that were supposed to be a lot cheaper. Yeah, the F-22 is a much better plane but US ain't making any more of them even for themselves. Of course if you just build 200 planes they get expensive, the more planes you build the more you get the price down, the first 200 F-35 was even more expensive. The F-35 is slightly stealthier but it is slower, maneuvers way worse and generally is a poorer flyer but politics made the F-35 the far more widely produced plane. If the F-22 still had been in production it is likely nations like Japan had bought it instead. The thing with stealth though is that we don't know how effective it will be in a war 10 or 20 years from now, it is clearly good to have but you can see the F-35 with a Global eyes AWAC plane already today so it is a bit of a risk to put your money on a plane with relatively poor performance in the air but with very good stealth capabilities. Politics have shot down many good planes from WW1 to today. The F-22 is just one of many victims and restarting production of it would be very expensive so it is sadly not very likely even if the existing planes are getting an upgrade now.

@@blucat4 Funny enough is the plane South Korea is working on very similar to the F-22, they look almost identical from a distance so they are clearly impressed by it's performance. There were issues with the F-22 initially though, that needs to be pointed out but there were issues with any plane initially. It is kinda ironic that they thought the F-22 was to expensive to build so they cancelled the project for another that was slightly more expensive in the end (again, counting the first 200 planes, any planes you make in large numbers always drop in price). The F-35 have it's own issues, using the same airframe for a VTOL and none VTOL plane is not without problems performance wise and the F-35 is made like a Jack of all trades while the F-22 is an air supremacy fighter and specialized planes tend to be far better at what they are designed for even if there are things they either can't do or can't do well. It is a shame because the F-22 is probably the best fighter jet in the world today and US certainly could have used more then 200, not to mention other NATO countries.

Now it is not going to be Japan's fighter jet with this video being shown many countries will have these fighter jets, Stop showing on display or videos to other people because it spreads to other countries and is no longer just Japan's fighting jet. Look at the laser beam from the US it was shown on display now many countries have made laser beams. Fight with the newly built weapons let others see it that way because if it is shown on display it will be fighting its own duplicate made from other countries and it can have a twin made even stronger and better than its brother born to fight. Soon countries will have triplets and more. Meaning more and more fighting jets will be born or made.

And I know the engine upgrade I just you have to take into consideration the temperature levels of the sensors that are on the Windows if you start increasing the speed of it it must continue to have continuity The increased speeds are going to reflect, on the surface of the aircraft so Dynamic temperature and Sensor Fusion must be maintained of the high degree of a thermal heating and how you're going to drain off the city you have to really look at I looked I love the upgrades I think it's fantastic and you know what I'm impressed with the connectivity of the upgrades this is y'all did a great job but we still have to be able to manufacture F-35 to whatever type of fighter that we want to India knighted states generically under President Trump because if we don't have our manufacturing ability will easily be defeated

If you don't have stuff in this environment do you know what I was concerned about the decision but when I saw the level of stealth capability and how much you know what when you build the stealth aircraft and your enemy is built the integrated are defensive system then they have to modify they have to spend billions of dollars to modify their system,, stealth is important the only uncomfortability that I have with the F-35 is that I wanted to be able to work for the amount of money that you're asking for us I wanted to work even if all of the radar all the scientific data all this s*** is f****** gone I wanted to work, I want to still be able to turn into the enemy and fire my cannons and missiles even if a fire my cannons at least, if you'll give me that you're the greatest gift from God
