@vigorous5 Yes exactly no more glass and much less space needed to store the finished product. People with very limited space can do retorts and have a nice emergency or daily use supple in just a couple of shelves. This really is for everyone who is interested in good health and saving money on prepackaged foods.

How long will retort canned and packaged meat last on the shelf?

Does it matter how much you put into a retort pouch? I can easily get 12 to 16 ounces into an 8 ounce bag. Is it OK to fill the bags?

You can’t put in more than advertised. The bag can split. Putting in more that it’s rare will over stress the bag.

@action9766 Hi The retort canning bags only work with the chamber units. We are finding not all chamber units work. Many of the China built chamber units now found in retail stores do not have large enough transformers to seal the metalized retort bag. Call us first! 1-800-227-3769
