From the first time that Mercedes and Ford diesel took off, I knew they would be the last two vehicles left.

That pickup which spins at 2:00 is extra. Pickups, You dont see many of them on the streets now, down here in Poland.
@g00dl00kinb0i5 жыл бұрын
Have you ever seen them before ? Europe uses vans and flatbed chassis trucks rather then pickups trucks. Full size GM/Dodge/Ford pickups are and always were super rare there as most had or have V8s and gas taxes would kill you in Poland. You can only import them for a fortune but none were sold there originally. You might get a Subaru Baja...

@@g00dl00kinb0i actually in Poland we used to make our own pickups, Polonez Truck, Tarpan, FIAT 125, Zuk, Lublin. Not as big, small engines, and it was decades ago. Many of my friends and ppl from my fam had or have US cars, Voyagers 3.3, Durango V6, and even old Ramcharger V8. New or almost new Cars from USA are often cheaper than euro cars. Insurance is based partly on engine displacement but import tax is much bigger for cars with engines bigger than 2.0L (+15% of car value). Many cars with bigger engines have LPG installation - its approx 50% cheaper than gas. Yes, big pickups are super rare. Even more exotic are flat beds with cabin behind engine. Last time i saw one maybe 7 years ago. Euro's have cabin over engines, not sure if this is the right name, but i hope You know what i mean. Naturally no 2-stroke diesels here.

Some Benz and Volvo trucks also have a nose in front of the cabin but yes, I know how EU trucks look. Haha, my father owned a construction business when we lived in Poland some 20 years ago and I remember the Tarpan trucks very well, he had a fleet of them, 4-5 of them ! Good rugged machines just those weak motors in them but it could go places on good tires otherwise. I grew up in Poland btw and remember some US cars there but the Voyager, Durango or some Chrysler Stratus is a small part of US cars produced in America....once I knew of a black Dodge Viper R/T-10 in northern Warsaw where I lived, one guy had a Countach LP400 and one a Bright Rally Red '92 Camaro V8 5.7l with the RS package parked behind the Globi supermarket (fell in love with Camaros after seeing that car). Ahh the memories...thanks for the walk down memory lane :)

Diesels dominated this year, good on them. Hopefully we get more and more great cars showing up next year. Was a great year for Car Wars capped off by an amazing finale race for the derby cars, can't wait for next year.

It's something to see, when the big heavy truck can move like that with a big diesel engine. So much torque.
