I’ve waited 10 years for them to show Shadow at his best and I’m not disappointed, that was freaking awesome. I agree with you Frost, Shadow is honestly one of my favourite fictional characters ever. I wish they’d give us a game focusing more on shadows chaos powers over copying sonics gameplay tbh. Also, Shadow the Hedgehog is a guilty pleasure game to me. Yes it’s ridiculous and the story is just SA2 but worse, but I did enjoy it despite its (numerous) flaws.

Also, I gotta hand it to Ryuko's OG English voice actress Erica Mendez; Ryuko may have been her first breakthrough role that was soon followed by her roles as Rainbow Dash and Pac-Man, she went to voicing VERY unexpected roles that sound nothing alike with Ryuko, Pac-Man or Rainbow Dash. To answer your question about why Shadow would work with the people who ruined his life, during the true ending of Shadow the Hedgehog, after seeing that Gerald was trying to save the planet from the Black Arms, the President and Commander of G.U.N. decided to work towards a brighter future in honor of the doctor, and the Commander wished to make amends with Shadow. Honestly, I think it's kind of admirable that Shadow decided to join, kind of like he forgave and forgot. (no pun intended)

Shoot. That rant on Shadow was longer than the DEATH BATTLE! itself. 😆 Here's how I see it: Gerald made this for his granddaughter, right? Girls usually find lizards gross. Hedgehogs are cute. That's why he changed it. 😁 I honestly think the outfit wouldn't be so... revealing... if Ryuko didn't slice up Senketsu a bit with the scissors blade when they first met. 😆 I will admit, I thought Ryuko was gonna win through power alone, but I forgot that Shadow's speed was more than enough to damage her faster than she can heal. I am glad Shadow got the win, though a little bittersweet for me as I also enjoyed the Kill La Kill series.

To be fair to the Edgy the Hedgy video game, there were moments in that game that captured Shadow's personality really well, especially considering his amnesia from Heroes. The game took it self comically seriously, but Shadow was pretty spot on, save for a few moments where he acts extremely self-centred. Like, him being confronted by the G.U.N Commander aboard the ARK. That scene is really touching. Shadow is fully willing to submit himself to punishment if what The Commander said turned out to be true, he just wants to regain his memories before that. The CoMpUtEr rOoM ending is also really sad, Vector's voice acting notwithstanding. He comes to the conclusion that everything that happened to the ARK personnel, Maria and the current invasion was his fault, and he feels genuine regret for being born.

I agree but also disagree. It’s mostly due to Sega’s writing trying to be Darker, Serious, and realistic on a Cartoon Video Game. Having Shadow abandon what made him a hero and because cold, heartless, and uncaring towards everyone. Trying to make him a Vegeta clone from the Cell Sega. Even if Shadow is Winning knows how to handle the situation, he still acts angry. I just miss him being more heroic and having a fun dark Hero personality who is not afraid to smile or crack a joke when he is winning like he was in SA2 and Heroes.

I think the reason they used Sonic X is because it's a series that can be tied to the games. A few of the events in Sonic X also happened in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. So it makes sense to use the show since they're closely tied.

In my opinion, this episode is a hundred times better than Shadow vs Mewtwo, however...it suffers the same problem as Mario vs Sonic 2018, basically ignoring crucial information from games such as Sonic Generations and Sonic forces, like Sonic getting more powerful every second, or that in Generations Shadow's character Bio states that Shadow's as fast as Sonic, another problem I had was Ryuko's personality in the fight, Ryuko acts pretty much like how she started in the series, even though she has all powers and skills at the end of the series, so her acting all aggressive towards Sengetsu is just odd, Shadow's personality in the fight is fine, but I rather the Shadow's personality from Shadow vs Vegeta, better than how he acted Shadow vs Mewtwo, been an total edge lord, also I feel this fight should had been slightly faster, like Shadow vs Vegeta when it comes of how fast the characters moves. For what it is, its fine, but I watch this episode everyday over Shadow vs Mewtwo.

If you go to the Death Battle and the time period of 18:05 They say If Sonic could do it then Shadow can do it ? Because using this logic if one character can do it then the others can doesn't make sense because they are two different characters. With this logic wouldn't most of the Final Fantasy characters be considered broken power level characters because if you look back at Sephiroth vs Virgil they say Sephiroth is op then Tifa loses and they don't even show her full capability or even bring up all of her feats. Supernova is how he wins Tifa survived it. It seems like a bad excuse. Saying Sonic feats and using it to defend Shadow seems like they are desperately looking for a reason. I would have loved both Ryuko and Shadow to fight other characters and once again it seems Death Battle is weird a little. I like to rewatch flights and reactions and I caught this point on my 2nd viewing. What's your opinion on that ? Also there are a lot of debatable things using the logic of if one character can do it then the other character can. Next time on Death Battle could have been better hopefully they get better later this season. I hope they bring Ryoko Matoi back to fight another character I would have liked her to fight Akame from Akame Ga Kill and other characters would have made a better opponent than Shadow in my opinion. I like Shadow and I love Ryuko. ^_^

I’m glad Shadow won, I was rooting for him mainly because he’s one of my favorite Sonic characters. I played Sonic Adventure 2 and watched Super Mario Bros Z and Nazo Unleashed where I was introduced to the character. Also yes, I agree, he is a very misunderstood character and the fact that SEGA and fans judge him based on his look and based off his character on 2005 game and some aspects of his Boom counterpart, just proves they forgotten what makes Shadow great as a character (Gonna to be honest, we fans are just as guilty as SEGA for ruining the characters). Thankfully (if this is true) the people who wrote the characters during the 2010s have likely been fired and hopefully find writers that KNOW the characters (I’ll edit this to let you know if the firing of writers are true).

Lex Luthor vs Doctor Doom. i'm gonna go with Doctor Doom because, like with the Iron Man fight, most of Lex's attacks and moves are specifically made to take down Superman, and last i checked, Doom isn't Kryptonian. unless there's something in the comics i'm not familiar with since i don't read them, or if they use the Anti-Life Equation he had for a few seconds in Unlimited, then i'll be amazed he wins.

They didn’t make Shadow into what he is now, SEGA did.

Depends on the Shadow. If its the Post-2010 shadow then people can call him whatever. However if its the Pre-2010 Shadow like from Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Sonic The Hedgehog(2006) then he is a hero. Also This is something that happened to All Sonic characters not just shadow. After 2010 All the sonic characters got worse. It was revealed that the writes for Sonic colors and Onward knew nothing about sonic except from a few Wikipedia pages. The PJshow did excellent Analysis on them. Recently Silver

It's so annoying how now a days some of the Sonic characters get treated so poorly to the point where they're no longer their likable selfs? Well Shadow is one of them, as is one of the reasons he's not in my Top 10 Sonic characters, the developers creators and even some of the fans misunderstood what made Shadow such a cool and likable character. I tend to see Shadow's character as not Vegeta (because I'm not entirely familiar with DBZ, and the annoying comparison in the past decade because of Sega's poor writing decisions), but rather Riku from Kingdom Hearts. Mainly because they both started off as villains in the first game and be reformed in the end to begin their redemption arc of doing good and what's right.

I understand that you hate Black Doom as a villain as well as the Black Arms aliens, I respect your Opinion. For me personally Black Doom does have potential to be a good character. The problem was his character development, it's so messy in Shadow The Hedgehog thanks to the horrendous morality system. The Story and his character development is dependent on what actions you take ie beating the Neutral missions to take the Neutral path, beating the Hero missions to take the Hero route or finally, beating the Dark missions to take the Dark route in Shadow The Hedgehog. That's why his character development is a mess. Don't get me wrong I still have a guilty pleasure and soft spot for the Shadow The Hedgehog video game, but even I'll admit the story is a complete mess thanks to the morality system. And all that doesn't matter anyways because there's a Last Story which explains the true cannon plot and ending to you via exposition. Oh and to unlock the last story you have to complete all 10 "Non" canon endings which means you have to go through each playthrough starting from Westopolis 10 times to unlock 10 of the possibiIe "Non" cannon endings. I say non with a capital letter and quotation mark because again those endings don't matter because the last story explains the true cannon ending to you.

It came out of nowhere and an excuse to make Shadow edgy and darker to abandon his true heroic side from Adventure 2 and Heroes. In Adventure 2 final story and Heroes where he cares about his allies and the world but serious on protecting the world. Ever since Shadow the Hedgehog the game, Fans and Sega themselves use that game as the perfect example of Shadow’s character, to be a heartless, uncaring, edglord who Hates everyone and everything.

You know, there are characters who are godly powerful that use guns, like Dante or Ren Amamiya (Joker).

It’s the Universe they live in, Dante got supernatural type of Gun, he’s a dark hero like Shadow, but know how to have fun, and that what I like about Dante having a dark story with demons, death, gore, and a lot of curse words it fits. Ren using a gun due to its settings oh it’s universes. Not try putting that in a Sonic world, where it starts off as Cartoon world fighting Robots, Blue Hedgehog that runs faster the the speed of sound fight a Fat man who is inspired be Teddy Roosevelt trapping animals into robots. They change the Sonic universe into something Darker and realistic just because of Shadow’s appearance. As for the gun thing, I never liked it because Shadow was powerful enough he doesn’t need a gun, they gave him one because a fan request it and they added Heath bars on enemies to slow you down. But I digress
