Frost River Drover Hat Review

Review of the all new Frost River Drover Hat
This is the second review of a Frost River item, the first being the Isle Royale backpack, but more are on the way. I receive no sponsorships nor perks for this gear. If it gets a good review, it is because it is indeed good, quality gear.
This hat has just a couple of extremely minor things I might change, but overall it is incredible, and well worth the cost. Even considering the additional price I pay to have it shipped to Europe, and the 50% border tax and import fee I need to pay, I would buy it again if I had to do it all over again. It is that good.

Thanks in advance for all you do....any thoughts comparing Frost River Drover to Tilley T3?

Heya Cineburger. Thank you for watching. You might know that I've been using the Tilley T3 for the past couple of years, and while it is a bit lighter weight, and therefore a bit more comfortable, this new Frost River Drover hat is built extremely durable. You saw the branches deflect off it like nothing, and there is no possibility of snagging. The water resistance is also better. So physically, the Frost River wins. Now, regarding a different topic, I wasn't too happy to discover that Tilley has many of their products made in China. The T3 is still made in Canada, but the outsourcing to another country for many of their items rubs me wrong. I like supporting local businesses (regardless of where that locality is). If I bought an Italian product, I'd like for it to be made locally in Italy. The same is true with Canadian and American products. The Frost River hat is made in Minnesota with materials purchased from other local businesses. Therefore, not just physically is the Frost River Drover hat better, but also philosophically. Sorry for the long answer, but there you have it. My T3 is in my closet with a half dozen other hats and will be worn from time to time , but the Frost River is my new best wilderness companion .
