Hey there! It depends on the time of year, but I check it every day to make sure that it has enough. This summer has been very hot, so sometimes I water twice a day. Where I live, it rains a lot in winter, so I almost never water between September and May. I don't use a typical bonsai mix - its about 50% azalea soil for acidity and extra water retention - it been my observation that, like your username, azaleas love water.
