Great job with this playthrough. Thank you for the close-up camera shots of the cards and board state. I'll be following the channel for sure!

Hello adventurers. Abby is correct at 15' : chaman is moving towards the city guard because it requires 1 movement instead of 2 (difficult terrain) to go towards the Deathwalker. Monsters are lazy. They always choose to go with the least amount of movement to their focus.

For blink blade, I can’t recommend highly enough the X card experimental adjustment. I’m not sure why this is an X it is a core card for the class. Reusable invisibility is vital for an assassin class in this game. It lets you dive into back lines with a slow move, next turn become invisible quickly, then go slow the next turn after monsters go so you’re invisible for their turn, followed by a fast turn. This will let you do 4 turns in a row without presenting yourself as a target. Also don’t sleep on that damage on adjustment top it adds up.

you guys do a good game of editing. I watched another play through that was an extra hour as they fumbled with moving units around. Good job. It was enjoyable to watch. 18:45 I don't think Blinkblade is about speed, rather it's about time manipulation. 30:00 I think you could have drawn the enemies' cards to see what they are doing before you finish your round. OMG. Those lovely, lovely satchels just left laying around... It hurts my soul. :)

Echoing this, your editing is great -- it adds so much to keep the pace of the video up and you do a great job of explaining the decision making without needing all the time spent thinking/discussing.

I agree with you about the Blink-Blade, That’s a better way to put it. And yeah, I realized afterwards that I should have pulled for them during my turn.

@@TymberJ Thank you! I have a hard time watching unedited gameplay videos- I will say it takes a good bit of work to do these, but it’s worth it. We do keep some “filler” things just to keep it authentic… our next video even has some moments of “analysis paralysis” - because any experienced GH player will resonate with those moments where you have/make a plan then everything changes. 😅

Awesome game gang! Nice editing as well. My buddy and I just started a campaign with this pair. We have the same issue about both of us being squishy. He is switching to drifter. Loved the death walker shadow play. You're entrance into the second room, flooding the entrance with the abyss would have had all these monsters quaking! The visual in my head of that moment was the stuff of nightmares.

34:05 in this moment you receive a hit of 6 and I have the impresion that you discard a card to reduce this attack. Is there any rule like this?. Well done guys, superb videos!
@mikeberrier1139 Жыл бұрын
In Gloomhaven and Frosthaven, you can always ignore damage done to you buy taking 1 card from your hand or 2 cards from your discard pile and moving them to your lost/burn pile. Losing a card removes it from the game for the rest of the scenario, so it's more extreme than just discarding it.

I like using Hit and Run with the Blinkblade to attack then run away. Useful for resolving the issue you described at the end of the video having to do with standing around and getting hit.

Really like the Deathwalker mechanic. Probably be 1 of my 2 starting classes. My brother and I play 2 handed so we don't miss out on the unlockables. Great vid.
@WaxDrag2 жыл бұрын
Frosthaven has a mechanic for less than 4 players where you get a free inspiration or something every scenario. Then you spend 15 when leveling to get an extra unlock. So you can still unlock stuff with lower player counts. Just in case you wanted to switch back to one handed :) But if you're having fun, eff it!

I had the same reaction playing the Blinkblade as you did. It was really fun to play but there were a lot of times that I spent a token to go "Fast" and my initiative was higher than the Banner Spear or Drifter or some of the monsters. If you have to spend a very limited resource to go fast, you should be the fastest thing on the board. I still had fun with it, though. I like the high movement and the hit and run style plus I was able to run past everyone and grab the treasure chest, which pissed everyone off, so that's a bonus!
@robinrussell2099 Жыл бұрын
The blinkblade has four 1 or X cards with possible initiative 19 or under, so thinking about initiatives the card offers in addition to top and bottom and slow and fast when selecting your hand seems pretty important.

There were multiple mistakes in the first couple of turns. The card he played for the blink blade in turn 1 (cascading reaction) is a burner card. He did not seem to treat it as a burner. In turn 2 you have to declare that you are going to use an item (the poison dagger) before you draw your attack modifier, you can not do so after the modifier is drawn. The monster wants to use the fewest movement points possible when moving, not go the shortest physical distance. If it could get into melee attack range using fewer movement point its will go that way even if an enemy is physically closer or has a lower initiative but takes move movement points to get to. I stopped after watching the second turn so I do not know if they made any mistakes after this point.
@BrogMan12 жыл бұрын
That's actually not true. Cascading Reaction is only a loss on the top action of the card. He used the top action of Kinetic Transfer(slow) for the ranged attack and the bottom action of Cascading Reaction so neither card is lost, they are both discarded and will be picked back up when resting. You are correct about your second statement though, the item should have been announced and the priest should have moved towards the guard instead of the Deathwalker.

What an ass way to act and then still be so wrong in half of your statement boldly criticizing others for misplaying a few rules of a game.
