didnt add the insert during the campaign because i was planning to get the folded space ones anways (they already promised to design those based on their gloomhaven kits back when the campaign launched). folded space inserts are great in general and very cheap compared to all the wooden ones.

Agree with the shipping date header concept. I’m sure companies don’t want to do it as it is a commitment. I notice even in this update it seems the timeframe has pushed out further. Maybe hoping if they keep pushing out the time, shipping cost will be lower when eventually shipped? Theses campaigns take so long now that feel more like a hostage than a backer. lol

I like current system better, when other classes can get class specific item later. Especially Eclipse item. But I get your point. Estimated shipping info on projects is very good idea! At some point I want to try Angry face, Two minies and Circles in one party and try Angry faces alternate playstile. BTW in our southern neighbors boardgame shop, in Lithuania, FH is available for preorder. Things are moving.

Through my years of buying games on Kickstarter I have seen both sides of good and bad communication. Getting 93 updates is definitely a plus even if they aren’t all full of the information we crave. They all have vague answers for production and shipping but some Kickstarter’s seem to convey that information more clearly than others. What seems to irk people more is when they are told about big changes post closing of the Kickstarter when they have less control over their pledge dollars. This particular Kickstarter has been, I’ll say polarizing, at times and may be more analyzed than others. Development delays are frustrating to hear but much like video games I want no parts of an end product that was rushed and feels incomplete. I’ve seen enough out of Gloomhaven and Jaws give them some slack to hopefully get a better version of Frosthaven. Sure I wish all Kickstarters were as transparent as possible but Frosthaven isn’t one of the ones that bugs me personally. Or maybe I’m just another jaded backer of Kingdom Death Monster and anything else by comparison seems like it’s coming along fine and is basically “on time”

This is not some random newcomers with their first kickstarter though, this is Isaac with the highest backed boardgame kickstarter ever, so one can _at least_ expect a decent amount of updates. This game was planned released a year ago (right?) so every single update should have some information regarding the expected release/shipping date. Every single update. That's why a looot of people read these updates in the first place. If no changes in release, OK, then mention that, but don't leave your backers hanging.

So two things: Firstly, for the solo scenarios in Gloomhaven, I already played with the items in this new fashion. For some reason, in my mind, I felt like the Brute’s sword that he earned in his solo scenario was for Brute’s only. I think I also felt that way because of the fact that some items WERE limited to just their character class, unusable by others. So this system isn’t really a change for me, I’m totally on board. Secondly, one hundred percent agree James with the shipping debacle. Everyone understands how difficult shipping is right now. Everyone gets it! We just want some sort of clarity on the status, and when they never talk about it or bring it up like you mention James, that gives me a bad gut feeling that even they don’t know the schedule or estimate. So estimate is TBD, that’s the greatest fear. (Which is another reason I didn’t back and that I don’t like Kickstarter).

I just recieved my HeroQuest Mythic tier yesterday. It went from "kickstart" (really Hasbro Pulse) to release in about a year. Not directly comparable as its just a rerelease of the original 1989 game with some art and modernization changes, but Hasbro really exceeded my expectations there. Much less drama and they threw in one of the last milestones Gargoyle and Dragon with dragon campaign which the kickstart didn't achieve. major props to them.

Yeah, but they also have their own manufacturing capabilities, being part of Hasbro and can tap into a massive supply chain system. So they can all but ignore things that independent gaming develops will get tripped up on.

@@klinktastic Like I said, its not a direct comparison, but it's refreshing that I get what I originally backed and then some without having to worry about the little things like filling out timed surveys about product I didn't originally back or other internal politics that the customer shouldn't really have to deal with. I am just backing/buying a board game I like, it shouldn't be any more complex then that.

Dude I just saw this. I’m furious. Had no idea. Some woke nonsense and now I’m stuck with a horrible and hideous foam insert. Now I gotta sell it at a loss, I’m sure. This is so annoying. I’ve backed 100 projects on KS never had a survey this important 18 months after campaign. Furthermore, why is the wooden option not the default? That’s what they advertised on the site!
