My two all-time favorite pack manufacturers are Eberlestock and Mystery Ranch, so I was looking forward to watching your review, especially after watching your "short" video! I'm glad that you like it Vedran, and agree that a padded hip belt would be more comfortable, especially when carrying heavier loads, even though this has 27-liter capacity which is great for overnighters and/or 2-day trips. FYI: The plastic frame sheet can also be used as a snow shovel. 👌

I've herad that before and I'll defenitely try it next time! I think it's 30l now... it was declared as 27l but they changed it. It just MR UK rounded the number :) Thanks man!

Hey man, great video! A silly question, please. The second pocket on the lid, you show a "thing" from TRC Outdoors and you refer to it as "timmy". What is this? It looks like a kind of a cloth, but maybe I'm just missing a right word to search for it. Am on a lookout for a backpack but also for a kind of a cloth that I could use to clean my knife/hands/stuff, and this "thing" reminds me of something like this? Thanks again!

@@frostys_bushcraft I look forward to it! This video of yours has convinced me to give the Mystery Ranch 2DAP a chance. I had a Savotta Jaakari M but I found the lack of any padding in the shoulder straps, and no load lifters caused it to be uncomfortable to wear with more than 15lbs of gear. The Raccoon looks like a Savotta with better suspension and padding... that's why I'm so curious about it.

How is the stitching on the pack ? I know they are made in Vietnam which makes me wonder the quality control, is the pack good to take a beating ? also how many Kg have you loaded it with and how did it feel ?
@frostys_bushcraft Жыл бұрын
Everything is either double stitched or the stitches are protected, everything looks precise and tidy so no complaints there. Most I loaded so far is arround 30ish lbs and it really needs a propper hip belt at that point to be comfy. I actually found and ordered the belt so waiting to try it out.

Certainly a good pack. I have considered Mystery Ranch myself in the past but never got to buy one. First thing is they are expensive as f*ck, at least here in the EU. Second I already have around a dozen packs of all sizes and there's no more space left in my appartment lol. And I'm more of a Tasmanian Tiger guy anyway. They're much cheaper and easier to come by. And at the end of the day weight is still weight and you have to lug it around yourself. Most modern packs do a fine job at this task. The rest is personal preference and cosmetics. But nice review video anyway!

A very nice Review. I use the pack now for a year, really every day. It´s such a allrounder. Yes, it might not be the absolute toughest one, but it stood up to every test. Therefore it´s not to heavy. My only complains are the hip strap as you mentioned, but i don´t use it for overnighters, where i have to load it that much. The other little negativ for me is the ventilation on the back, maybe its getting better with a few adjustments. But it not much of a deal. How do think of the ventilation? Maybe any ideas to change that? Thanks again for this nice review!
