We cover our TT and we also place large buckets on the roof down the center to give the top an angle so water won’t sit on top and to help water drain and repel off. #PNW RAIN issues. Great video.

Don’t know if your interested, I just installed a Lance trailer cover on my 2020 ,1985 and it fits like a glove .

Just stopping in to let you know this cover works amazing! We just had two massive rain showers go through and once the sun came back out I checked the trailer and not a drop inside. We know we have two skylight leaks, just waiting for the new ones to be shipped. Until then we are reliant on this cover and it is holding its own!! 🥰

I know some trailers it is a bad idea. The wind will cause it to rub against the finish. So with Airstream it is a big no-no. I have elected to just keep mine waxed and keep a good eye on the roof seals. Hope it works out well for you two. Would also say be careful when cleaning your roof. Most of them appear to be made to have an oxidation layer that protects it.

For your Airstream, how beefy does that undercarrage look? So many of these other Travel Trailers it looks pretty cheesy. So cheesy that it scares me to do a cross-country trip.

@@oldsalt8011 I actually don't own an Airstream. I found a Lance 1575 my jeep could tow and got that. So I cannot speak to how good their frames are but there are several KZbin channels that have Airstream trailers and never heard complaints about them. I would say get what you like you can afford and have fun with it. As long as you don't overload it and drive it appropriately to the road conditions you're likely to be fine. Taken my lightweight trailer through some rough places but just went slowly. No issues with the frame at all.

Nice lance. We have a wold creek truck camper. We will store it inside this winter. Winterize it. I hear not so good things on covers. Plus dealers leave units out all winter. Nice share

Good point. Don’t think it’s a necessity but we are going to feel much more comfortable having it especially during the winter especially with all the rain we get. Plus we have a huge tree that likes to drop limbs and leaves like you wouldn’t believe. Not for everyone but since we can no longer store it we feel it’s the best option. Safe Travels.

Buy a 12 mil tarp, cover just the roof and wax the rest. My rv is 7 years old and not one hint of oxidation or the white haze from fiberglass fading. I do two complete full details on my rv every year, meaning, full decon, buff and polish then a paint sealant and only cover the roof. A 12 mill tarp is 300% thicker that those "rv" covers. The roof is only cover for 5 months and left uncovered for 7. Roof is beautiful

Thank you VERY MUCH. I'm single and older and don't want to climb my class c to make adjustments to an RV cover. It sits in the California hot sun and the only thing I need it for is to protect the roof....well maybe one side too. I've been thinking a tarp is the only thing I need. With your suggestion, I'm going to buy one and try it.

I cover my trailer every year we live in Kansas City Kansas and right now we are in some pretty cold weather it's literally maybe 15° right now and I have about 5 in of snow on the ground

It’s in perfect condition a actually. We have it on our trailer right now to prevent the sun baking the paint. It doesn’t fit perfect but for the price it’s good enough for us.

Yes I now want you mean I live in Florida and my trailer sits east and west so I get sun on it all day long it fiberglass I need to compound the front cap tomorrow morning when the sun is at the back of the trailer thanks for the comeback

Hello! We just bought our first camper and are doing our research on storing and protecting it. We do not have a covered storage option, so are considering a cover. Your video was very helpful, thank you for posting it. We also noticed this cover is about half the price of the ones at camping world. Sounds like you might have had this one for about a year now, so just wondering how it has held up for you over the past year? Any mold issues with the rain/moisture? Any tears? We live in Iowa, so our winters and much more and windy and snowy than yours, and our summers are very hot and humid, so we have to take that into consideration as well. Thanks!

Hi Lisa. No issues whatsoever. We live in Oregon so a lot of rain and wind. Its not custom fit but it has many straps to keep it tight to the trailer. Really don’t understand why anyone would spend the extra money as this does exactly what you need it too.

It’s still in excellent shape. We are lucky though in that we don’t have overly harsh weather. A lot of rain but not much sun that tends to bake those things.

Hi William. I have a link in the description. It is meant for 24’ trailer but is not custom fit. It does have straps that can be adjusted. Is it a perfect fit I would say no but it will do exactly what we need it to especially for the price.

How do you maintain the battery? We have a factory solar battery charger. Wouldn’t a cover impede this?

That is a great question. We don’t use a charger so it hasn’t been an issue for us. Funny thing is we bought our trailer new 5 years ago and haven’t had to do anything with the batteries. How that is I don’t even know. Only time we charge them is when we are heading to a new destination which is not that frequent

Everything I have read and the reviews say covers aren’t good and will ruin the finish by beating the the finish all the time by the wind action, like sandpaper. Good luck and hope it doesn’t get yours.

Great points Eric. Sort of a catch 22 I guess as it seems no cover could cause issues as well. We will hope for the best. Nice thing is this particular cover has a lot of straps to keep it tight to the trailer.

So far so good. We have it on our trailer now to keep the sun from baking it. It’s not a custom fit which have cost 3x as much. It definitely does the job.
