guess what? chores go great with paint drying! by the time you wash a sink full of dishes or put in a load of laundry, you are ready to paint again. also, i put a little desk fan on. that breeze really helps dry the paint even quicker. my fave was the brightest multicolor most stained glass colors one!! beautiful!! : )

I like them all because there are options and opportunities that each allow for embellishments, Zentangles/Doodles/neurograghic art on top or varnishing to bring the whole further to life. I like them all because the follow the field of mood and tempo from very orderly and organized (the gold lines on the black background) all the way to what we call in acrylic pouring, a "wrecked" piece which to my eye was the most abstract, and the most creative because it was the least expected; a surprise! lol

gorgeous prints, and honestly I was happy to see the imperfect bits, too, because my ability to pull the prints cleanly is still hit and miss, and it's kind of reassuring that even the fabulous Froyle can hit a snag.

If you leave the print to fully dry it will come off... it is that sorta dry sorta wet time frame that causes those prints to stick and tear. Also when your plate is clean and conditioned (we use food-grade mineral oil) those prints will pull more cleanly. It was a great save so either all good! Love all the prints and experiments!!!!

Do you just wipe the mineral oil on the plate then immediately wipe it off? Would you do this as well if the gelli plate gets sticky from use? I don't have a gelli plate...YET. But I'm really wanting to get one. Thanks!🥰
@PMartistStudio
@PMartistStudio Жыл бұрын
@@susanorban3059 Yes it is best to run down your gel plate after use. Make sure all the paint is off, clear packing tape works well to remove any paint that isn’t coming up. Rub down the plate generously with the mineral oil and if you store it use copy paper so pitting doesn’t happen with paint build up 🥰

Food grade mineral oil or letting it dry completely. Good to know tips. Thx. (BTW: Do you think Liquitex Pouring Medium lightly saturated on the paper might have released it from the plate? Or a few drops of silicone oil in distilled cold water?)

I have always respected you and your tutorials. But my respect for you has skyrocketed for you showing your mistakes as well. I’ve never understood why so many KZbin channel personalities do not show the errors. We are all human. It’s called a mistake. It is not called in on purpose. It happens to the best of us. And it is helpful and even gratifying to see someone you hold in esteem make an error. That is how we all grow. So thank you for doing such. Blessings from Tennessee! PS, don’t you love how many comments I make on a single video? I am doing the deep rabbit hole dive into your channel so I am playing catch-up and I’m responding as I go along instead of waiting until the video ends. But, that’s just how I roll.

Hi Froyle, great video and I love the way you show us the mistakes too. What gorgeous creations with your Gelli plate - the best fun I have doing arts and crafts, is using my Gelli plate. That stencil is beautiful isn't it, I must get one. I loved all your prints, and although all shades of blue is my favourite colour, I love reds and bronzes and golds too, which give dramatic results. Thank you as ever Froyle for giving me inspiration. Take care and have a superb week. xx❤❤😊😊😊

oops with the rice paper sticking to the plate when using the Bronze fine color to pull it. What would have happened to allow a successful pull if you had lightly sprayed some water on the paper to urge the paint to adhere and the paper to release from the plate? If water would have diluted your colors, how about if you had used a thin spray of acrylic pouring Pouring Medium? I enjoy "happy accidents" because they sometimes allow me to try work arounds (or not) Lol I love that you are not bothered by the issue one bit! You keep right on laughing and having fun. It's all very therapeutic; isn't it?

I remember the three month trip I took in 1994…Hawaii, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. I remember that cemetery that was about a hundred letters long. But they just called it (and pardon how it sounds) I can’t remember how to spell it exactly, but the abbreviated version was like….tefuckarayaraya…lol. New Zealand is very much like western Canada where I am. I’m not sure what possessed us to go to Australia in February though….yikes. 🥵
