This one starts out with the Explorer and fleet exiting the 37th star system. Inside the Explorer, Jeff and the others discuss the last episode with Jeff hopeful for peace with the Drules now that Hazar seems so willing. But the others are more cautiously optimistic, and wonder if it was wise to leave such a small force back on the planet. At any rate, the teams launch to explore for new worlds.
Meanwhile on Dreska, Hazar ruminates about the failed agreement with the Alliance. Speaking with Dorma, he wonders aloud why the high command won't give up their arms for the sake of a planet to settle given the dire straits their home world is now in. Borgam arrives to let Hazar know the high command has send a squadron to planet 10 to take it by force - which is just what Hazar feared.
