Frozen Lake and Green Lake | Rocky Mountain National Park

Hiking deep inside Glacier Gorge to Mills Lake, Jewel Lake, Black Lake, Green Lake, and Frozen Lake, on August 19, 2023. Amazing hike, highly recommend!
Directions to Trailhead:
Take Bear Lake Road to the Glacier Gorge Trailhead or the Bear Lake Trailhead (This adds 1 mile round trip). Parking at the trailheads is limited so you will likely need to park at the Park and Ride across from the Glacier Basin Campground. Be sure to check the time of the last shuttle.

Elevation Gain: 2,315 feet (706m)

Pretty late start for a big hike. I got caught in a storm high in the Gorge before and those thunder booms were loud and kind of scary

Yeah, it was a late start. Happy I got down from Frozen Lake when I did. Wouldn’t have been fun to be up on Longs.

I wish they did a better job of marking the way to frozen lake. Me and my wife ended up turning around a little before frozen lake due to navigation problems.
