Frozen Newell 225 M how to service and repair this reel that gets a 2nd Chance

This Newell reel came into the shop frozen. It would not turn! Veryunusual for this reel.

Well that was a challenge! One must have patience when doing reel repair . Way to hang in there and give that Newell a second chance.

Patience and a sense of humor are two qualities absolutely needed if you are going to work on reels. Patience to get it done and a sense of humor to laugh when things don't go the way you think they should!

Thanks Bobby. I was one step away from not getting it done. Fortunately, I got the pinion gear loose and was able to complete the service

I got LUCKY! A family heirloom reel; that was hidden away in my grandfathers garage for at least 6 years maybe longer. I cannot express how happy I am to see it get repaired. Now I got to find a bottom half of rod clamp. Dennis THANK YOU!! That was an amazing repair.

the majority of my income came from fixing things that someone gave up on, the thrill of success is addicting. no matter what the cost of a product, how bullet proof it's supposed to be, lack of maintenance will kill them all
