I like that setup. The only change I would make to it is I would save 3 skill points and put 1 to Nova, 1 to Thunderstorm and 1 to Lightning Mastery, in order to use Thunderstorm with the build. It's not going to destroy any content, but I wouldn't pass on the option of dealing "passive" damage to enemies (and stunning them in the process), especially on players 1-3.

I've watched a few of your videos in the last weeks just for fun and I always wonder why you go for a Spirit Monarch and not one that needs less strength. I've been out of the loop for 20 years or a bit more, was armor that important o was there something else? Edit: Nevermind, I just looked up which shields can roll 4 sockets and the other non-paladin ones require even more strength.

Nice build! I have a Nova Sorceress that is amazing for farm, but now I most want to enjoy the game with my Javazon and build a Frozen Orb Sorceress because i just love this skill. The build I want to make is: Deaths Fatom with 5/5 facet; Call to Arms and Spirit on swap; Nightwing with 5/5 facet; 3/10FCR amulet; Spirit; 100life armor with 4 5/5 facet; Trang Ouls gloves; 2x Stone of Jordan; Arachnid Mesh; TriResist Boots. Sunder Charm, Cold Skillers, life and mana small Charms. Maximize Energy Shield and invest all points on mana. Also, maximize Cold Mastery for the cold imunes. It gets the 105% FCR needes for the teleport breakpoint - 1 from the higher. Nova is for sure better for a overall farm, but I want this build mostly to fast farm Keys and maybe essences, and other specific monsters farm. High mobility speed and good damage on a very cool skill build.

I don't see why you don't use a sunder charm. Energy Shield ignores resistances anyway so the lost cold res is irrelevant.

@thatotherdan9984 i have a 90 SSF Hardcore Singleplayer Sorc with 20 Tele, 17 ES, 20 Blizzard, 20 Orb, 15 Mystery %75 Block can clear cold places p4 fast and mephisto P4 with decrpy axe, and very tanky. You can even lower def for more dps if you have a good merc. Good HC hero. Also can kill P6 cows very fast when i reset and lower es+tele for cows. Also i dont have any runeword items on her.

Sundered mobs only recieve 1/5 of the cold mastery.

Maybe use a Doom for the big -60% cold resist. Also means less points needed in Cold Mastery.

3.6k mana is insane. I didn't realize Pray was so good. I always used Defiance merch with Tal Mask and Fort. Instead of Enigma, I have COH. I'm also lvl 86 with just torch and anni for charms so sunder is a must for me sadly.

Not bad. I run 3 piece tals with fathom/nightwing/travs/chancies with a 6isted crystal and 4isted monarch on switch. I just stay away from poison when possible and slot antidotes. For cold immunes I prestatic and have sunder it’s fine

one of the best things enigma comes along with for a mf sorc is 45% faster run walk. everytime u load into a game u get to the WP so much faster, which saves so much time in the long run

I am trying to understand how the monster immunity now works in the game... Does my sunder charm affect things first, then Infinity, then cold mastery? I really wish blizzard made it more clear. The only thing I read that I seem to be sure about is that when you break a monsters immunity infinity and cold mastery are reduced by 80% to me this means that I would want to maximize my cold mastery in order to bolster any efficiency that that might have for clear speed on cold immune mobs... The major changes that I use from your build is chains of Honor, Mara's kaleidoscope, as well as 7% mf small charms with 10% cold resistance to negate the downside from the grand charm. I am still looking to get a f ew cold skill GC to boost the DMG output... I'm going to do some testing and see if it's viable for me to switch to death's fathom with a faucet, versus using a 40% Rez hoto. I really appreciate everything being res capped especially incase I take a lower res curse etc.

This is my favorite MF build skill wise, except I use full Tal's set instead for gearing. The maxed out res was nice, but I might try this gear build as well to see if I like it more since it does bump up dmg compared to my current.

Resistances are useless if you use ES because they're not used in the damage formula.

I like this build but pretty much every energy shield build I've tried just gets murdered in baal walks. Players 3 Baal walks are kinda what i use to scale the usefulness of my characters. But i always use infinity on merc. Does elemental absorb work with E.S? I like Wisp Projector. You mentioned damage reduction, does that work with ES?

Really cool. I usually use similar Build when i want to farm Mefisto early on. Its just Spirits + Lore, Blue Amulet Cold skills and everything you can get for better, similar Merc, but with some Yellow Etherial Armor with Lifestolen and some Frost NOva chance when Struck :P And voalla. Edit: I have +3 Cold Skills and 10 Cast speed amulet :P heheh

I love frozen orb, however there are two thins from making any build with it excel. One it needs to reduce that stupid cooldown, and two it needs a few more synergies to make it viable in 8 player games.

Cure runeword on merc is what help me the most, seems to remove those ailments pretty quick and health regen too! I've seen huge difference with my ladder and non ladder Novas

No, there's only 3 Non Paladin shields that can get 4 sockets and the ones that aren't monarchs require a metric ass ton of strengths. as for swords, sure I guess you could use a ton of different swords, but most common is crystal due to low low requirements. Followed by broad sword and long.

Thank you for your time to make this build, its amazing got to HELL dificulty very fast, following exactly the same but i have an issue Just got to hell and im literally stuck to the den of act 1 ( LOL ) , zombies are immune to cold and my chain lighting does literally zero dmg Am i missing something ?

You should try Frozen orb with Firewall OrbWall sorc it was my favorite before I started to play with NovaSorc

Yeah i was about to say this exact thing. Chains of honor is another great alternative to enigma for sorcs especially if you want to get those resistances up to farm some harder areas.

Resistances are not very important with energy shield so it's kind of a waste. Energy shield with the telekinesis synergy gobbles up much of that damage. I'd rather get the 2 skills with the MF than the 2 skills with the res. My preference.

i love the relaxed play of frozen orb, but i hate the "just skip cold immunes"... i see icy veins has an orb hydra build, but i dont really see many people using it... i was wanting to try an orb/nova build, but then the FCR is kinda contradictory... so now i'm not sure :x

If you can get the rune words for doom, you can save huge points as you don’t have to place much in cold mastery. You can put the extra point some where else.

you made a huge mistake , telekinesis. its the synergy for mana shield but the % of mana taken per point cap at 75% so you put way more points that you should have. i would rather use a cold sunder charm and max out cold mastery with the over spent points in telekinesis but only if you really want to kill cold immunes, dont forget that cold mastery is divided by 3 id using cold sunder

Why do you always show 90+ lvl characters with top tier gear? It would be great to show time to time 70-85lvl characters with not SoJ, Viper and all the super charms. Apart of that nice guide. Thx

I never understood builds running no shield. It's an obvious choice, since mana to life ratio on soso is 3x more and shield needs only 1 skill to be usable along with meta items.
