I live in north east USA and it is like this for me. Sometimes with more snow. I refer to it as the Quiet Time of the year. All is snug down until the spring arrives. The beauty of the countryside and the quaintness of those narrow lanes made this walk worth it for me. Too many new builds to be a classic, not much on the architectual front, and the way that old barn at 22.30 was converted for occupation with those ugly metal 'office block' windows, reminds me that they're best left as they were. At 24.00, a view fit for a photographic competition. Really treacherous conditions, and at times it sounded like you need catapillar tracks instead of shoes. Thank you.....

A rare sunny day after the snow. Those old cottages and barns, as nice as they are, must need a LOT of maintenance, much more than new bldgs - I imagine every week something breaks down, water pipes, furnace, roof leak, replace rotting wood planks, and on and on.

We're sitting at 0c, feeling like -7c, here in Brant County, Ontario, Canada. Nice to have a warm up after the cold we've been experiencing! Silly, but I love to know the temperature and time of day on your walks. This was a particularly captivating walk! Such gorgeous views. And that enchanting cottage with the water right behind it...perfection! Thank you for risking life and limb on this icy skate through Chisbury, Kevin.
