love the game. please for all that is holy, get something in the game for the players to WANT to siege and fight. relaunch and make it a BIG deal and let this game be what it can be, the best space game out there

Dear FrozenbyteGames, You have stated in previous videos that you are aware that the player base is gone and you are not expecting huge sales due to the current state of the game, so now suddenly putting development on pause for undetermined time in order to do other projects due to "Starbase's sales performance hasn't been the strongest" I must express my huge disappointment. How can you expect sales from an unreleased game, unfished game. Why did you release it in the first place ? just to get the funding ? there is a place for that and its called Kickstart. You cant release a game in early Alpha stage with no gameplay loops and expect enough copies will sell in order to develop the game AND keep the company running, and we have bought the game just so we can support the project because we love it but im talking about the hardcore players you cant expect every player to do the same especially when they have been burned by lots of Early Access games so now 80% of all the players in the world are staying away from Early Access. Starbase is what made FrozenbyteGames known to the world before that it was mostly Trine. And looking at stats Starbase has 61,484 folower's while Trine4 the Nightmare Prince only 37,772, so it is fair to say Starbase is more important for the future of FrozenbyteGames, in other words Starbase WILL BE THE PRODUCT YOUR COMPANY WILL BE REMEBMERED FOR, but for what specific reason will it be remembered for? For its success or for its failures ? Needles to say if you abandon the game or leave it on undetermined dev pause it will look very very bad for any future games coming from your studio. And we wont forget that.

Yeah they went quiet after the massive ban wave following their last video update. The steam reviews and reddit ate them alive. Fortunately fb deletes all commentary from those they ban. So it's hard to say how widespread the ban problem really was when they conducted damage control.

can you guys make sure in future versions that piloting a ship and steering with the mouse has some zeroing/reset functionality? In its current state if you decide to pilot a ship with the mouse, when you turn left, you must also turn the mouse right in the opposite way when you want to stop. if you can add a tier 3 or 4 component that allows yolol to automatically understand the ships rotational velocity around its center of mass and "Counter" the turning movement automatically. or simply add some parameters into the game that let us USE said parameters to write a yolol script that can do this? The only thing that comes even close to this is using ISAN to understand the ships ESTIMATED velocity, but its very crude. Surely an interplanetary space faring robotic civilization has access to some gyroscopes and can inherently understand the relative velocity of their own spaceships? space engineers has this in 2 forms, its called RCS. 1: The ship will understand its own directional velocity, and the RCS component will talk to the thrusters and automatically "Brake" once you let go of the directional thrust. 2: The ship will understand its own rotational velocity, and the RCS component will talk to the manouvering thrusters and automatically "Brake" once you let go of the rotational thrust. thankyou ^^

Because industry and trade are much more effective than conquest (which requires a lot of both of the former anyway) - PvP won't happen for the emergent reasons that it needs to for the game to really fall together into an interesting game (as the moment-to-moment gameplay is functional but incredibly tedious). Rust also has tedious foundations but nobody notices because the PvP has a purpose.

the same was done for counter strike go at the start. activity isnt a factor at all to qualify for a member council. a member counsil should be a corp head, see every play style, possible problems of the future (so should be playing other games for 15-20 years and have some experience). i played 20 years of professional cs and multiple other shooters and would like to give feedback on gunplay for example. dont want to be arrogant. but i cant imagine that anyone on the player council is more qualified for that. if you have 10 ship favored people in a council every anti ship infantry weapon will always be too op for them. i am sorry but choosing people for the player council without a possibility to apply for it, is AGAIN bad community managment. let people apply and put them though a filtering process, choose 50 of them. would be a much better solution in my opinion. experience in gaming is much more worth than beeing an active community member. playtime should be a factor too.

Station siege just makes me think, why would I bother building a station? Is this just going to be a space survival game like Rust? Build a base, go destroy someone else's base, have your base destroyed, rinse & repeat?

It's going to depend on a lot of things. How long will sieges take? How easy will stations be to conquer? How expensive will sieges be for both sides? All questions are unanswered and will be so long as there's so few players in game.

Cap ships are more expensive than stations. Otherwise there are few differences. If the big factions what your station gone or for pirate lulz then your station outside the safe zone is done. A solo player station is a great raiding target.

Eve like mechanics that include anti PvP rules to discourage any PvP for fear of bans and anyone butthurt over losing can simply report you to get you banned. Litterally the problem became so widespread the entire PvP player base left. Or how broken economics unchanged for a year. Take your pick when you think of eve here.

umm, well Frozenbyte 😮‍💨, there is nothing left to lose , from the moment I saw that the safe zone was it's own world , I though this game will probably fail , and , it did . When safe zones are more than just respawn points , they become a storage area for anything of valuable. lets say , there are two army , they gathered every resource they could , all solider are armed and trained , and they built their military buildings . Now that they are ready to fight , a deity / god gave every solider and every base barriers/shield that can't be broken. What happens next , should the soldiers stand a look at each other ?

@@Universum. FB have stealth banned forum users repeatedly, mostly people who have been critical of them and the game under false reasoning. I know someone who was banned from their discord for asking why lolicon was allowed to be posted in a meme channel by confronting a mod. Banned. Reason: questioning the mods.

@@Universum. hmm well if I share links then the comment gets filter deleted. Basically a bunch of people have been banned for little more than difference of opinion or having any ritical opinion of the game if said anywhere. Then these players are blocked from all fb platforms and their comments removed with little to no explanation. Its been a major contributing factor in why the player base basically vanished. All the big factions moved on after seeing this and all the anti PvP rules that were also getting their members banned. The steam reviews are the only place you can find mention of any of this as it's the only place fb cannot delete commentary. Fb can't even claim they are being reviewed bombed anymore and their steam score is no longer being reset to 72 positive ever few days from all the negative reviews coming in. They were doing the score resets around December. I saw them doing it for weeks every time the score dipped below 65 it would magically turn back to 72 positive with no new reviews. lol

Love when folks talk about unfair bans and the vast majority of time it was well beyond just "mere criticism". MOST TIMES it's someone who doesn't know how to keep their criticism from going personal, filled with vile language, and more just insanity than anything considered valid criticism. Every single game community has these types. Swearing their victims of Devs trying to silence criticism (though VALID well done criticism is NOT removed) then come to find out the person yelling, "The Devs are silencing criticism" was doing/saying things that would get them banned in any DC for the way they decided to conduct themselves in their so-called criticism.
