An update 2020 for those having problem with solid lights. don't click the DOWNLOAD button BUT under to the left you can see this: History firmware DOWNLOAD (not compatible with v2.x.x) clik that downloade link. Try one of the x8r . I had to use FCC

Great video!!! Thanks!!!! BTW, it appears that Frsky now is calling the two versions "LBT" and "FCC", meaning European and US, respectively. At least I hope so. I tried flashing FCC version on X8R and still will not pair. The whole thing is a paperweight right now. I have a complicated build and the RC link is the simplest and most trivial part of it and I've spent a week trying to decipher the intricacies of FrSKY's convoluted processes and versions. I never could get it to work. I could program satellite telemetry back in the day, but can't get this to work. Can't understand the "documentation" on the FRSky web site either. Not worth the time.

I have qx7 transmitter acces and x9r reciver accst versions. When I enter to bind mode solid green and red light is there .. Can this problem be solved by firmware update or any other process is available. Thanks

it is supposed to be fixed only by updating the receiver. but it is important that both versions are the same, that of the control and the receiver.

Hi Project very good video, all is great to undertsand...But i get a question due to my new X8R...on a side a sticker indicate...EU LBT and my Taranis Plus is 2016/05/16 ( writed inside ) and i can't " Bind " the RX and TX...is it a problem with NON EU, EU...etc...etc...? I have a problem with my x10s not communicating with frsky gr x8 both eu version. Only the first sux channels are working, 7 and 8 won't. With my glider I had to use a y connector to get my plane in the air. I am also unable to get the proper receiver voltage readout on my transmitter. Im getting a default reading of only 5 volts on a 3 cell 2200ma battery and I'm not able to change it manually. Please help I need some advice..thanks Mick

Thanks for the vid. I thought this might have been the reason mine will no longer bind. It worked one morning then in the evening, would not connect. So I thought maybe the firmware dropped somehow. So I tried this, downloaded the firmware, non-EU, in to the transmitter, connected to my X8R, wrote to it, tried binding and still nothing. I get the flashing red. The X8R is a replacement that is only a few months old. It bond first try out of the box and had no issues until now. I've switched it between planes before. This just happened when switching it to my P-51. All systems worked initially then after disconnecting and reconnecting, nothing. Would not bind after that. Any ideas? Thanks

But if I want to take my radio out of eu at some point I would like to change my firmware to the international, but I really have problem putting my radio back to the way it was. Is it possible to download one of the older firmware f. example 2017 or 2016 international firmware which worked perfect for me? and if so where can I find them. thank you

hello. I did as you show in the video, but the flash crashed at 25/30%. I can't do it again (I've an error message on the taranis) and the leds won't lights anymore even on my quad. any suggestion ?

You might have damaged the bootloader of your X8R and thus broken it. At least i've read that might happen if the flashing process is disrupted. I'd google or ask in a place like rcgroups.com for further information/help.

Two X8R is crashed during firmware =(( One frsky support fix (my shipping cost to and from a half of receiver). Google or other is silenced about fix. It so sad

Hi, great video, thanks for sharing is hard to find good information about this. I´m trting to do this procedure from Turnigy 9XR Pro, all steps are pretty similar but when i get the writing the receiver led gets green and the bar initiate the flashing process but inmediatly the led turns tu blinking red, i stil waiting for a long time and finally gets Failed, Any idea of the problem? Just a wild guess, is your external RF (bottom of page 2) switched on or off. I'm told it should be on but I'd try both ways.
