Laphi is the same; the boi has two sets of cast time reduction skills(on weapon and on Title) and is of his element(non-elemental), so he casts most of his artes fast enough, unlike others, whom weapon cast time reduction skills fall under only 1 of their primary elements. Not that that's a problem, just there is no difference in gameplay. Sorey is just... wasn't feeling it. I put 'em in at the end at least ( >.>).

I feel the dislikes comin' but since Zesty gets so much flak, makes me want to say this... There're just some things Zesty does better than Berseria. Better quickstep(well, its the same as Bersy w/o the "Longer Step" battle action =01), better animated effects, better spells in general... I don't see how things like this regress from Zestiria since Bersy carried many of these resources from Zesty =02. Little things like how Air Pressure and Geostigma in Zesty have actual gravitational pull to the ground(like the description says it should), but Bersy Geostigma "bounces", and Rock Lance/Stone Edge differences really gives Bersy a "cheap" feel. Inputs in Bersy can be atrocious at times(constant double-steps, lost inputs when stepping if not mashing); dunno if its the game, the PC version, or my PC, but its annoying as helck. Whelp, I'll stop there, cause it sounds like Bersy bashing; still enjoy Bersy overall much more than Zesty though aside from the battle system. Plus, I'm cheatin', so my opinion on the battle system means moot =0\.

I'm surprised this was in my feed today (no I'm not dead either), but even though it was "cheat" combos, this was still an impressive performance personally. I get the feeling from your description that you feel that it's cheated status detracts from how impressive it is, but please don't think that. Idk I just felt like I needed to say that if anything. In particular, I liked the Aerial Strike crossup thing you did with Eleanor; curious if that can be done without cheats because personally I've always found her Break Soul to be boring, so it's cool to see stuff out of the norm being done with it. Also Rokurou's Break Soul being used as actual combo extenders is something unique to this vid which I feel helps make the use of "cheats" more justifiable. idk what the hell I'm saying, feel free to ignore if you wish (that's probably what will happen anyways TBH), but hopefully you can see what I'm saying here, because I sure can't.

Every Break Souls are combo extenders (even Magilou's & Rokurou's), the cheat part is about the way his SG never seem to end or the way they can use some Artes individually when you usually can't (3rd Break Souls).

I read you quiet, but clear. I appreciate the words of encouragement brother =03. Usually when codes are used in doing something authentic, it usually gets a bad label, so I just brace myself accordingly. That AS thing doesn't look like anything that needs a cheat for. You should have ample time after Aerial Strike to use Coiling Serpent. Helck, you might even be able to get a Skewering Spear in their just before for flashiness sake =03. Yeah, Roku with free BS access is just a ridiculous amount of versatility. Would love to see what Vik or Rem could do in the same situation with this, but tis but a dream in a dream =0(.

that meebo combo :DDD Still had that stupid delay from Spiral Strike > Misty Reef though lol. I realize the thing I missed from Zestiria is that extra stagger time after Mystic Arte. I really love that Mikleo can extend the combo with Ice Reaver (and Lailah/Edna with their respective spells) after MA. Berseria's Mystic Arte just ends the combo altogether, like "lol nothing happened". Also, I don't know about other arte, but being able to cancel Velvet's Cerberus Wave opens up a lot of possible mix up (and might actually make her fun to play). Also using Rokurou's Switch Blast standalone, that's really great. Always love his smokescreen and jump away move.

Far as the Meebo thing, I tried to not make it obvious and wait til he got closer to the ground to do Misty Reef, but I could have done it at the apex of Spiral Strike if I wanted; just didn't want the 'teleport' to look super obvious =0b. Yeah, I too, liked the extra stagger time after the MA. I think Bersy's would be far better implemented if it were like Graces f(landing and enemy knockback in real time/distance). How exactly would cancelling Cerberus Wave mix up? It pushes you away right? I'm no Velvet expert, buuuuut I'm not quite seeing it =0(....

Okay...So from what I have tested(at least I think it was enough) larger enemies are prone to be knocked down far easier than regular weighted enemies.. I haven't went in-depth yet but I assume they increased the chance % of knockdowns with them. Which is why some of that happened with you. I'm not sure if it's specific artes, hitboxes or all above. Probably both. I've had a few artes where if you're at the *right* angle, they would get knocked down...Tales jank.. Aside from the nice combo video and awesome cancel codes(thank you based Frubs) may I ask why you utilize these combos on Large foes? I'm a little surprised because combos become a lot easier and better with smaller/lighter types. Less knocking down and little juggles. And I slightly agree with your comment on Zestiria. I'll even go as far to say that Berseria's gameplay is just a little "fun and enjoyable" to play with both ease and character identity(and that's coming from a Zestiria fool!). And ah...It just lacks a lot in the mechanic department howeverXD So...When's the Pascal combo drop breh? My baby needs some love...

I wasn't really thinking about enemy weight when determining who to combo on. I merely thought to try and stick to humanoid types and ones that didn't excessively get knocked down. Naturally, I have shied away from smaller/lighter enemies because of fear of high knockback creating too much distance and/or difficulty in controlling position, but in hindsight, I could have made something more creative if I threw at least one light enemy into the mix, esp for Zaveid and Lailah =0(. Probably not. I won't say 'never' because motivation can strike at any time, but as of now, I don't think the hacked characters have enough content to make anything satisfying.

Afraid not =02. There is a "minimum damage" code with Cheat Engine if you have the PC version, but outside of that, you might try the Katz' Slash Beat minigame. Other than that, just gotta practice in regular fights =0

how did you do all three mystic artes back to back. what do i enable in the cheat table?

If you have enough BG, you can chain-link all 3 of the mystic artes. You'll need a very specific set-up to do it legitimately, but here, I just have Infinite BG code on. During the Berseria combos, I stop attacking completely for a brief moment during the combo, then do a 7-action chain followed by the 1st MA, which allows chaining to the 2nd and 3rd.

For the PC version, there is a code list using Cheat Engine that lets you set the artes into any arte slot, including artes that doesn't belong to that character. I just used that program to set the artes I wanted into the arte list. Also for the PC version, a modder named Kaldaien made a program to alter Zestiria's PC version to run at 60fps, among other fixes(no stutter, better lighting quality/anti-aliasing, etc).

I'll ignore half of what you wrote (I don't know why, but it got on my nerves, you're acting very defensive for no reason and that's... weird) to comment the video ^^ I really like some of these combos, especially Eizen, Edna, Mikleo (Arrow Squall/Violet Storm/Maelstrom combination was cool), Magilou & Rose's. You're obviously better at Zestiria and it's really fun to watch you play. I wish the PS4 version had 60FPS & those armatized sets of Artes for non-armatized Seraphs, it really changes the game. On another note, it's too bad you did not include some Arte modification in Berseria as well, using enemy Artes to show more stuff. It would have been fun to see your equipment as well. I know you're "cheating" but it may be a good idea to give some details on what you use and how you do things. Most of us watch combo videos because they're an inspiration, they help us progress, they're not just eye candy. So if you have some analysis of the characters to share: why you like them gameplay wise, how hard it was to come with some ideas for the combos and to realize them, I'd like to hear those. The part of your message that actually points out the gameplay differences are interesting. And FYI the Berseria input problem is on PS4/PS3 too. I think we shouldn't play 2 Tales games the same, even if they have obvious similarities, because sometimes they're meant to give us different vibes. That's probably why Berseria MA cut the combo count for instance.

Nah, not being defensive really, that's just my opinion after playing the two interchangeably for this. But with so many "Zesty is crap, Bersy is da best" comments out there, and a bit of frustration with missed inputs on the Bersy side, I had a "moment" I guess and felt like putting it out there =0\. If I were to do enemy artes, it'd be its own thing I think. This video originally was to better showcase the codes made in the previous video; i.e. the Infinite CC/Soul and Arte canceller codes. I don't really make any changes to my equipment. I guess I could have shown the cheat table, but I didn't think it was something that needed to be seen. I will certainly keep this in mind for/if I do anything in the future though. Silly as it may be, looking at some of my former Leia videos, I didn't like showing the info at the beginning, and dislike the idea of "copying" showcasing at the end, so I just omitted them altogether =0(. As to why I like playing as the characters, that's a lot to say D0=! I've always liked Alisha; graceful, yet powerful. A lot of her artes maneuver herself or the enemy around the battlefield, and alot of her artes are aesthetically lovely to look at =03. Rose is okay; I don't like her aerial play much, as it leaves her too centralized, and usually I feel that a twin dagger user should empathize speed and maneuverability(something Rokurou does to great effect =03), which is why I avoided many of her aerial artes here; however I do like that she has three 'trap' artes with two different applications to play around with(Sleep/Burrow Dragon = landmine; Shining Mirror = push). The seraphs are nice if you get a Mystic skill(cast time -40%) on them, even better 2 of them as you can play them much like you see here, interchanging melee and seraphic artes(and can be done without codes; just takes a lot of work). The armatus artes give them an even more varied edge as its similar to a "style shift" type of combat I've come to love since Pascal. Sorey feels a little stiff in execution, and many of his artes look.... uncool ( >.>), which is why I was intending to skip him, but thought of the Artorius Throne parallel and thought it'd be nice to finish with that. On the Bersy side, Velvet, Roku, and Eizen have some nice maneuverability with their artes. Even without a "Longer Step" version of the quickstep, their artes wonderfully move them off of the lateral line, really giving that a "fighting" image =03, and makes for some nice panning effects. For Magilou, I only wanted to make note of using the Switch Blast to launch into the mines, and cut the recovery time of Glided Blast(where she rides the Guardian) to show 'what could have been'(though Miraclechao can use Magilou much better than I w/o any of this, so.... =02). I don't like Eleanor at all =01. Don't like any of her malak artes, and there's probably some lingering resentment from feeling like a "downgraded Alisha" that I just don't like her kit. She has maneuverable artes, just none that can satisfy my sensibilities I guess. The "Sorey" of Berseria, if you will. Far as the combos, I took into consideration how the camera will react, hence why I level it off instead of having the "in the sky" angle. I had did Eizen first before anything, so I just did whatever for him, but for everyone else, I tried to use artes that had nice mobility in conjunction with quickstepping to keep the camera panning effects while using an arte only once in the combo. When a combination didn't work, I would switch arte A with an arte B, and tried again from there. Eventually I'd find a combo that worked. Most of the annoying problems in Zesty were due to enemies downing themselves for no reason. Like how Zesty Zaveid downs the Tiger with Magician/Magius(it ain't a downing arte), but they were few and far between; just had to change the enemy I was fighting. And you already know about Bersy's problems, which came more often at the end of combos than the beginning =0/.

That's just the way the code is formulated. Every attack has a base damage value. When the game goes to get this value, I add an additional function that tells the game the value is always 99999(even strongest Mystic Artes are only around 10000), which is the simplest way to make this code. The game doesn't differentiate between friend or foe when getting this information(i.e. its only has data pertaining to getting arte info from memory). Since I only made it for my own purposes(and not for everyone else), I didn't bother trying to single out between player and enemy. Of course it can be done, I just never bothered to do it.
