Amy you could make that old shed into a little greenhouse to start your seedlings in for your garden. I love the decorative items you have in your garden area. I think frugal daddy is a hoarder 😂 . I know it must be very frustrating for you. I love your front yard looking out over the river plus all your beautiful flowers. Do you still have your senior dog ? I think she is called Darma? I haven’t seen her lately. I also love your iron fencing . You have a really nice size yard with great shade trees. Love to you and the family ❤❤

Amy, I absolutely love your magically meandering brick pathways. I love the way you use natural materials to create beautiful places in your garden. And, speaking of 'magical.' you are obviously a 'Garden Witch,' for it seems to me that you can get anything to grow. Your Hydrangeas are GORGEOUS!! I love the blues, but my favorite is that hot pink one on the side of the house. Also, I'd love love love to have the berry garden you've created. Looks as though you have the potential of having a lot of berry jam on your pantry shelves. 😊YUM YUM. Thanks for sharing your garden tour with us. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

When I lived in Indiana I discovered Mulberry trees, so many, by my apartment. After I moved back to Michigan, I found 1(!) on during a walk. I knocked on the homeowner’s door and asked if I could pick them and the owner jumped with joy-PLEASE DO!!! So now I get all I need! Nice video! Frugal Daddy-if you just start to pick up-you’ll be surprised how much you’ll get done🤣

Heartworms aren't caused by drinking pond or dirty water they are caused by a mosquito that carries the parasite which in turn transmits to your dog when bitten. There are other diseases that can be transmitted through dirty water but heartworm isn't one of them.

Lovely garden and yard. My variety of roses are feeding the deer. Cherry trees are loaded. Blackberry bushes are over six feet tall. Berries are black, but the plants take over the ground. Chestnut trees, two varieties have bloomed and now forming nuts. Abundant rain and high winds are doing some damage, but it will soon be very dry. This will be our fifth year for draught in WA. Imagine it with all the rivers but it is the snowfall that keeps the salmon habitats going. Have Logan berry bushes that are quirky--they don't ripen until late fall but want to keep growing over and under the ground. Have spent years on mulch, nitrogen bearing plant and tree foods. Apple trees and chestnuts did not bear much last year. Growing season this year is weird. Some things seem to have lost their way for when they should bloom or bear fruit. Wils elderberries (red) that are poisonous have fruit ripening already. I plant l English laurel for the blue/black berries. Everything is for the wildlife. Deer, raccoons, squirrels all come for food. WA, Puget Sound, Whidbey Island, Deception Pass, rain, mist, wind, cooler temperatures, 60's.😊

I love blue hydrangeas. Mine has been blue but turned pink the last 2 years. I have acid spill and acid water that is from a well so I was/am confused. This year I found this soil acidifier and used it and one turned a deep purple, two are blue. I treated them all with the soil acidifier. In SE Pennsylvania and they updated us from 6b to 7a. I'm glad your tomatoes are doing well right next to the potatoes. My cucumbers were accidentally planted where potatoes are growing, turns out the potatoes starve cucumbers, tomatoes etc of potassium. I am about to give up. Enjoy when you have your harvest
@paulawinstead5660
@paulawinstead5660 3 ай бұрын
Why "about to give up" when you have realized your errors or "what went wrong" AND what went right? Gardening is a continual learning process. Keep going with your gardening/growing and learning😃keep a lil notebook and jot down what you have learned. Next planting season just refer to that notebook and make adjustments. You'll be glad that you didn't give up. 10 yrs from now you will look back on this time and laugh at yourself and shake your head with "I was suchhh a newbie back then"..

Amy, you work so hard at gardening and beautifying your property, you are rightfully glad in your accomplishments. It's tough when our spouses are not on the same page we are. Sometimes it takes a long time for them to catch up, if they ever do. When my late husband began to have a hoarding problem, I used to attack it myself. He'd get all worried about my hauling stuff to the curb and then he'd take care of it. That worked most of the time. If he seemed content to let me work the problem myself, I knew I hadn't hit the the "honey hole" and I had to redirect my efforts. Compromise can be difficult, and as we age, our minds tell us we can continue to do the things we always have, but then, oops, the body is no longer willing. I pray Duane will begin to see the issue with his storage problems and take action. If not, then I'd call the vets and ask them if they want a canoe, a grill, etc., and then I'd find the local junk collector who hauls that stuff for scrap. If that doesn't motivate him, then I don't know what will! lol! Sending only love and good prayers to you and yours, Amy. God bless

Hi Amy, one of the easiest ways we have found to amend the soil is by mulching with something like sugar cane mulch. We do live in an area where we can obtain this easily, but during a hot summer it breaks down well. Maybe something like pea or Lucerne straw would be available in your area. I am in Australia by the way. It also helps to water with beneficial bacteria to improve the microbiome of the soil which in turn aids the plants with their nutrient uptake. 🙂

Always love your garden videos. Awesome that you have squash in a sunnier spot than in other videos! The ones you think are tiger lilies are actually day lilies, can tell by lack of black dots on flowers and long strappy leaves indicate daylilies, orangey in your case.

The plants you think may be blueberries look like raspberries to me because of their serrated edges. Blueberries actually love acidic soil so maybe a spot where your hydrangeas are the brightest purple will a better place for them. They tolerate shade very well so that may not be the problem. The soil PH may be the problem of the blueberries.

Hi Frugal Mommy. I loved the garden tour. I really liked how you made the brick walkways. Do you cover your strawberries in the winter? I'm in Central California. I don't cover my strawberries but I do tend to lose some from the cold. Most of my garden this year is reseeded from last year (strawberries, marigolds, lettuce, and 2 types of sunflowers). So far I have harvested some strawberries and a couple of tomatoes. Thank you so much for the tour of your gardens. It really looks like you put a lot of hard work into your yard.

North Carolina is the worst place to have a garden. When we were in Nebraska all you had to do was plant and give it water and it bloomed and grew into what it was supposed to be. Not here! ... California, we had a small yard but what we planted became healthy bushy plants. Not so in North Carolina. Everything we plant has no idea why it is in the soil. It dies or does not produce as it was designed to do. Red soil and odd growth here. I thought because of the trees it would be a good place to have loads of vegetables. We use composed, and nitrates and still. I just had to get that off my chest! The hydrangeas are all over the place and beautiful, but we can't eat them.
