That was an awesome video of Tomar, wow so much there I haven't seen. So cool the museums are free, shame more don't visit more than just the castle. You're so beautful Mandy that you shared your emotions with us. I'm sure everyone watching appreciates how real your experiences are that you share with us all. Thank you 😊💓

Thank you so much, Cindy, for your lovely comment. We were amazed by all of the free museums to be found in Tomar and could easily have filled one week with exploring the town. I'm just so disappointed that we both got ill, but more on that in another video! Thank you for being so kind about my moment outside the synagogue. Our travels through Central and Eastern Europe meant hearing about so many tragic events that befell the Jewish people, and I have so much respect and admiration for the survivors and the people who risked their lives to help them. The story behind the synagogue is fascinating, so I hope the text on the card can be read. As always, thank you so much for being so incredibly positive and supportive, Cindy. We appreciate your kind words so much more than I can express. 🙏🧡 ~ Mandy

I loved this video. Tomar is yet another lovely Portuguese town. Lee, your view of the trees and sky was magnificent, and I got teary-eyed, Mandy, when you became emotional about the beautiful Jewish ceremony you saw. It was so heartwarming. Thank you both for another wonderful video! Your channel is my very favorite!

Priyanka, thank you so much for your beautiful comment. It's taken me a couple of days to respond because I wanted my reply to be as heartfelt as yours. It is so wonderful to hear that someone watches our videos with their full attention and likes what we have to show. It can be difficult sometimes as we're not professional filmmakers or video editors, and we've never taken a course. We're slowly learning as we go, which is why feedback is so important... as we never know if people will enjoy seeing the way we travel and the things that we find interesting. I was unsure about keeping in my segment outside the Synagogue, but it came from the heart so I decided to include it. Thank you so very much for always being so kind and supportive. We love that our channel is your favourite... I think you're the first person to say that! We always love reading your comments and we hope you'll continue to follow our travels even when we eventually leave Portugal. Wishing you all the best for this new week! ~ Mandy 🙏😁😀

This was such an enjoyable vlog. Thanks. You include a variety of activities, something for everyone. I love quirky museums, they need supporting, especially if free. Lee always looks so carefree, the view up from the bench worked really well. I also enjoy the gentle sweeps down small lanes as you explore. It gives us the chance to feel we are really there with you. Hope this feedback is useful.

Julie, your feedback is greatly appreciated, thank you! Lee and I have very different approaches in the way we makes videos, as we have different approaches to life! That can make checking each other's videos difficult at times as we'd have done things a different way. You can see in this video, my video, that I love visiting museums and sharing information.. I'm also the fan of menus and free toilets 😉🤗 Lee is very carefree most of the time, and we both love lying under trees and looking up at the sky... I wouldn't have thought to record that though 😀😁 I wasn't sure if there was too much footage of that lovely narrow street, but I cut out as much as I could, whilst still trying to give an idea of how pretty and old that part of town is. Thank you so much again for taking the time to share this feedback. We both really appreciate it 🙏😁 ~ Mandy

Thank you for your excelletnt and interessing video about Tomar. Actually, I plan to go there next thursday, after watching your videos. about the Templar city. I didn't knew about the Interpretation Center in the Synagog. Last time I was there, some years ago, it wasn't opened yet. And you were very lucky to attend the jewish ceremony. I look forward to watch your latest videos about this wonderfull portuguese town. Cheers.

Thank you for your lovely comment, Luis. It's always great to hear from you, and it will be interesting to hear about your trip to Tomar as well. The Synagogue and Interpretative Centre were very interesting and gave some fascinating insight into the history of the Jewish people before the choice of expulsion or conversion after 1492. I would have liked to have shown more but the video was already longer than usual... hopefully it will give viewers an idea of what they're like though. I hope you have a wonderful time in Tomar, and that you enjoy the remaining 2 videos. Just remember that the open air market is on Fridays, if that's of interest to you. ~ Mandy 😁😀

So my trip to the Caucasus worked out well on the frugal front. The capital cities were more expensive, of course. I'm trying to send more postcards and that can take a huge bite out of my daily budget. But I saved more in Kuitaisi, which dare I say I preferred to Tblisi. I followed your route to Akhaltsikhe, my favourite accommodation, a celebration at the castle and to eat well, with local wine whilst watching the locals dance the night away was a restaurant experience not to be forgotten. The local bus halved the price of a trip to the cave monastery in Vardzia. But it was the scenery in this part of Southern Georgia that blew my mind.... travelling in Marshrutkas with friendly locals. Amazing! It was my taster and I will definitely be going back! Still thinking about countries 99 and 100. Whatever they are, they will be frugal! 🤩🤩🤩🤩👍

Great to hear your trip to Georgia was a success, Julia. It is such a wonderful and varied country to visit. We spent 2 and a half months there and still didn't get to see everything we wanted to! Well done for going to the south. Most people head north to the mountains so you got to see some of the less visited and very interesting regions. Glad you made it to Akhaltsikhe. I loved the castle there and it sounds like your experience was amazing! Brilliant that you managed to get the transport to Vardzia. It's so much fun riding on the Marshrutkas over there. Looking forward to hearing about your next adventure. Keep us informed as to what is coming next! If you liked Georgia we are sure you'd really like Azerbaijan and Armenia too. 👍 ~ Lee

Fantastic video. I was visiting a place called Mertola once and my friend and l came across a hidden Tabernacle. We bumped into a Professor from Lisbon who was there at the time who was adamant that there couldn't be, as they would have discovered it by now. My friend took him to show him where it was and he was gob smacked. Someone was doing as house up and part of the building was accessible and did a quick nosey and discovered it. My friend asked the Processor to let him know what will happen to it but he never got back in touch. I do wonder what happened to it.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, Lesley, and for sharing your experience in Mertola. I too wonder what happened to the hidden Tabernacle. There was quite a bit of information about this synagogue, the oldest remaining in Portugal, and I am so pleased we went there on a Saturday. It was a humbling experience. Thank you so much for thinking of us, Captain. We're housesitting in Praia d'el Rey, north of Peniche, and haven't had any of those devastating fires near us.
