Omg, can't believe there's a Macca's up there near el nido. Sure has changed since my visit. Lol That zipline right up my alley, definitely put that on my list. Downtown el nido I don't recognise anything, things change I guess. Nice that you can swim at the beach there, wasn't clean before so at least some improvement. Awesome accommodation.
@FrugalTravellers6 ай бұрын
Yes . Maccas is in town. I guess that's a benchmark for how touristy a place becomes. 🫣 The zipline looked fun. I bet you'd love it. I'm not surprised how fast El Nido would have changed due to its popularity. I think I preferred Port Barton due to its more laid back vibe. Still lovely beaches around Nido though. 🙏

Some great questions, lbuuny. If it's just Lee at the beach, as so often happens, he just takes his sarong down... or maybe his phone as well, and keeps an eye on it. Usually foreigners are asking why don't we have vegetarian options in big restaurants. Where are the veggies? Filipinos usually eat veggies at home so veggies are not offered in restaurants. So foreigners/tourists must turn to turo-turo/karenderya/hole in the wall food shop to eat/buy vegetarian options. Specially if the home cook is really good, it's as if you've been invited to a Filipino home.
