Terrific tour of Faro! Muito obrigada ~ Personally it’s not high on my visit list but no doubt I’ll get there, eventually. You two need to carry Sporks! xo

Thank you so much, Jen! It's always so wonderful to hear from you 🙏😀 Faro was interesting, it was amazing to see how many planes flew in every day... the starting place for so many tourists visiting the Algarve! We actually bought Sporks for our 40 week overland trip around Africa in 2010-2011, but they soon broke! I have a great metal set that I bought in South Africa but I have no idea where I've stored them! 🤣 ~ Mandy 😁😀

Another great video guys, you always seems to show me something new about a place I have visited. The streets looked very clean, so nice. And not too crowded. I have visited the Bone Chapel in Faro, a lot smaller than the one in Evora but the same idea. Odd! I have a photo but don't know how to add it to this comment. Looking forward to video on the beach!

Thanks Cindy. We love to wander and just see what we find. So you get to see not only the main tourist sites but the backstreet discoveries too. 😊. The bone chapel was closed on the Sunday we went there unfortunately. I was wondering what it looked inside. 🤔 Is it possible for you to post that picture on our Facebook page? I'm rather curious. No worries if you can't. 👍 ~ Lee

Looks absolutely beautiful! My parents are from Azores (the islands) and are now in the mainland visiting for three weeks. You guys highly motivated them to go to the mainland and visit and hope to find a nice place to retire. Always appreciate you guys and your videos and thoughtful tips and positive attitude! Cheers from Florida!

Olá! I'm from faro and I loved watching this video, because I'm so used to walking through these streets every day that I don't notice the true beauty of my city. seeing it from the perspective of someone who is here for the first time is amazing! I found this video adorable to see the happiness on this couple's faces. ❤

Olà M&L-We visited Faro last year but missed the market. 😢 Far from the marina (as you noted) but looks rather grand. We also missed the bones chapel so I guess we’ll have to visit both on our next visit to Faro and Tavira. Thanks for showing the train. I don’t believe many visitors know about it. We used it this and last year all the time. Can be convenient if the station is close to the city or town. Cheers. 👍🏻

Olá 😊 There is a bit to see in Faro. Probably not our favourite Algarve city tbh but glad we spent some time there and looked around. Shame the chapel of bones was closed when we passed by. I've seen pictures of it inside and it's definitely worth a visit if you can. The train is certainly a great way to get from one place to another in the Algarve. Fast, comfortable and way cheaper than the bus. 👍😊 ~ Lee

Hi guys! I’m currently sat outside at Montaditos with my massive sangria! I’ve spent a few days in Faro and Albufeira and absolutely loved it. Just wanted to come back to you to say thanks for making these videos 💛

Oh, that's absolutely brilliant! I miss 100 Montaditos... such a great bargain on Wednesdays and Sundays! We're currently in Bangkok so have loads of delicious food all around, but I could definitely handle a massive glass of sangria in this humidity 🥳😁 Thank you for your lovely comment and such wonderful feedback! It really gives us a boost on those days when everything seems too hard & we're tempted to pack it all in, so J hope you know how much we appreciate your support! ~ Mandy 🙏😀😁

Hello Silvana. Faro is further east from Albufeira, and has one of the 3 airports in Portugal, so is a popular tourist destination. It was interesting to visit but I prefer Portimão and Lagos, maybe because of the beautiful beaches... Praia da Rocha is amazing! Thank you so much for your kind words, and we really appreciate you taking the time to comment! ~ Mandy 😀😁

Hi wonderful travellers! I was just in the Algarve couple weeks ago and its one of the most beautiful beaches I have experienced in my life! Just curious how you both managed to stay in Portugal for over a year now? I am jealous! Portugal is such an amazing country with the most kindest and humble people!

For me, I'm staying at Paladim Alagoamar Hotel for 2 weeks next year, while I also visit Zoomarine for 3 days, seems jet2 offer me a 3-day ticket pass to the park! What is still on my mind now, do you have any issues with you filming in public streets or the shops?
@FrugalTravellers Жыл бұрын
That's great that they offer you a 3 Day pass. Hope you enjoy it. 👍 We always try and be respectful of personal space in public places so don't have any issues. If shops request no photo or video we'll respect that too. Hope you found this useful. 😊👍

Are the orange trees the same one as in Athens, Greece? where you cant eat the orange cause its nasty. They are only for show.

They probably are related, Paul. These are definitely for show only and have a nasty, bitter taste. This probably explains why people don't nick them all. 🤣😊👍 ~ Lee

My first impression was pretty annoying.. Bus at airport was cash only but driver 9pm wouldn't accept my 50 euro note even though she had lots of change at her fingertips.. She said get change from coffee shop in airport Do they expect foreigners to all arrive with a float of foreign currency in their pockets? Good thing coffee shop took it or I'll have been stranded at night Overall though Portugal seems to have more modest people than Spain
@FrugalTravellers2 жыл бұрын
It's always tricky getting on a bus with large denomination notes... the buses we use in the UK don't give change so it's even more difficult! We're pleased you resolved things and hope you had a great time in Portugal! ~ Mandy 😁😀
@irvz20872 жыл бұрын
@@FrugalTravellers i can't see why they won't accept large notes in some situations.. Especially when they have plenty of change and their disposal and a customer has just arrived in the country at night Im from uk too so I know a bit about it Surely it's ok to help someone in need when theres no inconvenience rather than just saying 'rules are rules' People have been mugged and raped because of being left stranded by bus drivers being hell bent on their unflexible rules
