Looking amazing will look impressive once its finished. You have done so many layouts you could run your own exhibition.

Wow! You've really put some work in over the past few days! Really like the effect of the tarmac and the infill between the rails. Keep it up Callum👍

Lovely work Callum, must be much easier building at home with all of your kit rather than in a hotel room!! Talking of kit you've made a superb job with your weathering powders. When the world reopens if you dive into a branch of the Works and buy their artists coloured pastels you can scrape them with a blade to produce your own powders any colour you want at a fraction of the cost of buying expensive modelling powders. I hate getting ripped off for modelling products when their is a cheaper home produced alternative!!!

Many thanks Jason! Sure is. I'll have to give that a go. Really do enjoy using powders. Can be really effective when just right.

All of a sudden it's really coming together. And yes you have done an amazing job blending the road into the back scene. Best I've seen ever. I think that with limited train movements available, the ability to make the light work will add a lot. Now how about operating gates too. Start like i did by bonding a cocktail stick to the edge of the gate which makes a good drive pivot down through the baseboard. Just a thought:-) Well done Callum. Keep it up.

Many thanks indeed! So pleased with how that effect has turned out. Glad you like it! Ha! I did think that, but as the trains on a shuttle I might forget to open them ;) Will have to see. More progress coming soo!

I love your techniques for these! I never thought about using thick paint over card to make a road like that, it looks really good! The little scene is coming along gorgeously!
@SDJR7F884 жыл бұрын
Many thanks indeed! Certainly makes it a lot easier to paint before adding it to the layout. Glad you like the progress!

I’m pretty sure the telegraph lines went down the road. Looking at the images on the keynsham history website I can’t see any poles the other side of the road running down the track so I’d say it was a fair bet that they went along the road.
@SDJR7F884 жыл бұрын
Yes, found out the post on the railway line was a lamp post the other week (which would be just out of scene on the layout). :)

I see that you're at home now as Premier Inn have kicked everyone out except for specific hotels allocated to NHS staff. Are you furloughed? I think the optical illusion has worked really well!👍
@SDJR7F884 жыл бұрын
Many thanks Mark. Yes, working from home. Nope, not furloughed very much hard at work :)

Hi. Nice progress on your layout. What is the rusty paint used to paint the rails 3:34 ?
@SDJR7F884 жыл бұрын
Many thanks! I've used Humbrol Enamel 70 Red Brick for the rails :)
