This song leaves a lot of marks in my head.. The title itself takes me back to the Classic series - all this bittersweet tragedy is a result of that one disagreement between Light and Wily over Double Gear. Billions of innocent lives and countless tons of scrapped metal were the cost in the end. Humanity tried to recover so many times, but all the way to Legends it's basically gone for good. Mega Man isn't the best and very inconsistent in the storytelling department, but piecing the whole thing together is pretty easy now and it all becomes really, really sad in the end.

Yeah, but another theme (very prevalent since the first megaman) is growth, earned through trial. In every game you start at square one, with your lemon gun and no double jump. The first boss is always hardest. But once you beat them, you get a bit stronger. The next one isn't so hard. You're gonna die A LOT. But you'll get better. By the end of the game, you're ready to start all over again and do it perfectly. You overcome and you become better. It will cost you. But if you push through you'll be better than you were before. Even if you end up totally different than where you started. So to sum it up-Humanity didn't go extinct and it isn't gone. It just changed, through its experiences, both good and bad. And anything that can change still has hope for a better future than the one that came before. ...Yeah, I was feeling inspiration today.

Love how the series went from friendly to dark. Megaman- friendly X- dark Zero- darker ZX-ZXA- really dark I've played ZXA since i have it for my DS, and its amazing. Top game in my opinion, shit got dark with the reploid who doesn't know his identity as a successors to be the Ultimate Megaman that will rule the world. And Ash, the human that doesn't know that she's a relative of the mad man that wants to be god. Shit

Legends is a mix of friendly and dark. And I know they’re in a separate continuity but that goes for Battle Network and Star Force. All that being said, I like how Mega Man is one of the few series that can be dark and lighthearted and not be accused of being tryhard or edgy doing so. Just something about the series as a whole that makes everything seem so natural.

The Zero series is the darkest one 60% humans and 90% of reploids during the elf wars all that happens during the 4 games and how climatic and sad was that zero sacrifice himself to save what lasted from both races to make a better future

And well, things does get more lighthearted after Zero, though there are still some dark undertones, even in Legends which is the lightest series right next to Classic.

The Megaman ZX series was meant to be an Anime as well, it's highly likely that the only reason that changed is that the games didn't sell well. However, my assumption was that Vent and Aile are siblings and when their mother was Killed during the attack at the amusement park, one of them dies(Whichever one you aren't playing as). This would actually line up pretty nicely with ZX Advent, technically Ashe and Grey both still exist at the same time, but only the one your playing as survive's their Opening Stage.

Its sad for the MegaMan timelines the timeline of robotics had the most sad and dark themes good endings that still felt like bad endings......but the digital ai's timeline went well and like ironically death battle Wiz said "this world...this timeline actually turn out pretty great" sad Classic MegaMan, MegaMan X,MegaMan Volnutt,Zero,Vent/Aile and Ashe/Grey got the dark timeline (aka bad ending)while MegaMan.EXE/Hub,Lan Hikari,Geo Stelar and Omega Xis got the good(with some dark) timeline(aka good ending)

Prairie is still the commander of the Guardians in MMZXA. If you pick Ashe at the beginning of the game it leads you to come across Vent and in the end he states "I'm sorry I can't stay any longer, Prairie and the others are waiting for me".
