Pressing Select in the Pause Screen allowed you to call Zero to play as him, if I'm correct.

@@Zero-ds9ws Correct, but he can’t fight bosses (except for one secret optional boss in Doppler Stage 2), he can’t collect power ups for X and if he dies, he gets stuck at Hunter HQ for the rest of the game. I don’t use him much tbh, the only place I always use him is the first few screens of Toxic Seahorse’s stage.

X as a Cyber Elf cannot live long without his body. Hence why he disappears, presumably into true afterlife, at the end of Zero 3. I mean, being a Cyber Elf to my knowledge is the afterlife for Reploids, so it *is* entirely possible that X stopped existing after that. But that is a little too sad to think about.

Went here to re listen to this and wow, i absolutely adore all 3 versions of this song tied to the series that ive come across. Heck i recently started working on an AMV like video for the series with the vocal version of this song mixed together since i just beat the series ending with Zero 4 yesterday and there’s no better time than when its fresh in the mind.
