Your videos are really good. If you could just speak slowly and remember there are a huge number of newbees out there who will not have a clue of what you are trying to say. Just slow down and your video will have a better impact and help a lot more people. Thanks. Keep up the good work. 😊👍🏻

I’m liking the progress on sim toolkit pro. Best of both worlds.

A few good little tips for Simbrief: They have a (free) Downloader tool you can use after you generate the OFP. It will automatically download the flight plan per your Flight Simulator in a specific folder you define. You'll get a notification after you hit Generate OFP on simbrief, click it and it will tell you that it is downloaded and ready for use! If you have Navigraph (paid subscription), not only do you get the most up to date AIRAC (Nav Data) you can load your simbrief flight plan onto your computer, phone, or tablet with Navigraph on it. This allows you to track your flight exactly with the help of their SimLink tool! Offering a range of charts, SIDs, STARS, and more.

Very nice tutorial video. What makes it really difficult to use all the tools is once you get your flight plan ready then when you input into the MCDU/FMS in the simulator, often it's missing some waypoint or procedures. They don't have consistent database. Guess sometimes we need to be little creative.

Yesssss that's so annoying, sometimes the vors don't exist, or the airport atis is not right, or the departures/arrivals are different x(

when i export my flight plan to ms2020 and load in the sim, the IFR flight does not work and the plane on the little nav map does not take same course as the sim, why?

Yeah it's not perfect what I do is build the flight plan and export it and then add in the approaches departures and arrivals in flight sim. I copy this in little nav. Yes I select them in both apps. MSFS doesn't have every procedure. In fact, it's missing a lot for many airports.

How do you know that ATC will give you just the Left or Right ILS runway when both are in use I never figure out how you all youtubers know that in advance.

Hi, If you are arriving into an airport with multiple runways in use, you could expect most of the time to arrive on the runway that makes the most sense compared to your STAR. For example: In this video, if you refer back to when he was planning his KATL to KMCO flight in Little Nav Map (4:50), you'll see that the STAR into Orlando takes him towards the left of the airport and ends there. It wouldn't make sense to cross the localiser of runway 35L, 36L to land on runway 36R. That would also be a waste of airspace. Controllers use this way of sequencing aircraft to get traffic arriving from the right side to land on any of the right side runways, same for traffic arriving to the left (which in the video is the case). TLDR; if youre approaching the airport from the left, expect to land on the nearest runway to the left. If you approach the runway from the right, expect a runway thats the closest to the right side. If ATC would operate the southly runways, (17/18) it would be a bit harder to predict which runway you're gonna get. But do not worry, since that would be a straight in approach regardless of the runway, it wouldn't affect your VNAV profile that much. The only scenario that you would still cross localisers to land on the opposite runway, is if one of the other runways is closed. But this would always be noted in the NOTAMs. Good luck :) -flynn

Great tutorial, but it was really unclear why you did or didn't like the each of the STARs. Maybe it should be obvious but how well they do or don't align isn't clear.
@morgangowen9584 жыл бұрын
I think's is mainly to do with the vicinity of the STAR to his incoming route. When picking STARs you generally want to pick one that you can transition onto easily without traveling to far to hop on to it. So you choose one that has the closest opening point to your route

of course you need to take into account the weather information first! He was just randomly picking a star. In real life you would first look witch runway is in use due to weather. And by knowing that you can choose a proper Star for your route (in real life you get the Star from the ATC clearence)
