You can also toggle name plates on or off on your TB flight yoke which is very useful instead of dipping in and out of the flight turning them off and/or on

I’m new and it took me a while to realize the importance of the piloting settings. Turning most of these off first makes a big difference even before setting up velocity 1 profiles.

Thanks for another excellent video. Those were very helpful tips. I note that when flying in multiplayer mode, the names of the other fliers is printed in a darkened box. My question is this: Can the on-screen notification for airports and points of interest be located in darkened boxes as well? My eyes are considerably older than yours and, although the print of the notification is sufficiently large, I find them very difficult to read against the sky or water especially if they are some distance away. Thanks very much for all y6our help along the way!

Very informative video as always! I am still learning but notice every single youtuber uses the legacy interaction, is that recommended and why? As a newcomer i find the tooltips helpful as you say in the video. Also, can i ask why you recommend turning off all the Piloting assists? Is it just so you dont use them as a crutch instead of taking the extra time to learn at the beginning? Thank you.

Thanks. Some Piloting Assists can actually have detrimental effects on your aircraft; also as you mentioned, it's good to not get used to them from the start and then start relying on them. Having said that, I always advise people to tailor the Sim to their own liking and preferences, so don't feel that you have to replicate mine or other people's Sim preferences - find your own comfort zone and go with that :)

@Huddison Thanks for your reply! Ah, that's okay then, I am in two minds whether to turn them off or not. I did try a takeoff with takeoff assist on, and it idled the throttle and wouldn't let me increase it, so I was stuck on the runway! Turned that and landing assist and autotrim off after that so I may just turn off the rest and brush up on my training! Thanks again for the clarification. Looking forward to your next video!

Hi, great tutorials, easy to follow. I am new to flight sim, using xbox x. I have a few issues with MSFS, possibly bugs or just me. If I want to undertake a longish flight, say 5 hours, split over 2 days, how do I save the flight and then open it the next day so I can continue the flight? I have tried to save a flight but when I load it up I find that my route has disappeared and also the tool bar at the top of screen has disappeared. Do you have any ideas what happens? Could you make a video of how to do this please?

If I recall correctly: I'm not sure there is a sure fire way to save flight - our discord might give you a few hints and tips on how to do similar.

Hiya Huddison, when flying to destination airport I have trouble actually reading the white text against a usually light blue background, like you, my eyes are beginning to let me down (78) is there a way of high-lighting the text or have the text appear in a darker background window to make reading it a bit easier , thanks for your vids they are a boon to older fly-boys like myself.

Main screen - Options - General Settings - Misc. - Pilot and Co-pilot have 16 different avatars which can be selected, each has their own voice.

I have the RTX2060 super and have the DLSS option. I believe if your driver pre-dates October 2022, you won't see it, so update your driver, you should then see it. Cheers!

Do you mean engine sounds? You can find that in General Options/Sound

it wont even let me login anymore and I just did a full reinstall because the whole sim only showed flat surfaces . Lost internet connection according to the sim so logged out . Now just get the opening page and cannot click login . So sick of this sim . Oh , I have a High End PC and a 4090 but the sims looks horrible . Any idea how to be able to login ?

Update . To login when it won't let you , just push Alt Enter . It puts the screen in window mode , then it will let you login . Good grief . Now to see if I can actually make it look like a flight simulator instead of a flat world of melting buildings . Using Ultra settings also and it still looks horrible . Frustrating
