I started playing the game when I was in a period of unemployment. I logged hundreds of hours and got right into doing everything ultra realistic, hard mode, start from scratch, zero dollars etc and I had a great time. Then when I found work I struggled with the game, I didn't have time to do the hours and the hard slog. I lost interest and didn't touch it for a period of time. Now I have come back and I play very differently. I realised that if I do something crazy like buy a pickup with an unrealistic tipper on it that no one else will judge me because they don't see my game. I can windrow at 30kph with the right mod and it doesn't hurt anyone. Play the game the way that works for you at the time you're playing it. How lucky are we that the game is so infinite that it accommodates so many varied playing styles?

So true. My favorite way of play isn't for everyone. But it is for me. I spend time on multi-player start from scratch setting up a run down family farm with a gigantic bank loan, from 1.4 to 4 million. I set up any oldish looking buildings, very small animal pens, put some grain and hay up in silos, fill the pens with mature animals, run up the time and dirt on a lot of small machinery and equipment, then build/sell, build/sell, build/sell to run the money down to nothing. Then I save and exit. I start my career on that save, role-playing as the kid coming back to help the family farm. There is used equipment for sale at the store, old tractors for sale at other farms. Stole this idea from mrSealyP himself from a let's play on 17. And I love it. Have to do some contracts just to cover the loan interest. Had to sell 12 sheep just to buy feed for the rest. It's a challenge to make it through until next harvest. Then try to re invest. Pay off the loan. And get ma and pa out of trouble.

Happened to me too. I think when everyone was penned up a few years ago it brought in a lot of new players, myself included. Now with things back to normal I don’t have the time to play like I used to. I wish I had the time to learn all the ins and outs again but there’s only so much time in the day

Soooo true! I found myself being ok with being a little unrealistic at times so I can enjoy more of the game as a farmer and spend less time being a hauler or as I joking say driving simulator. Sometimes as a solo farmer you gotta get creative to get more done in less time so you can ENJOY...ALL... the games assets with our limited play time.

Hiya Mr Sealyp, it is possible to collect the gold nugget up in the corner where the prospector camp is. Drive your vehicle right up against the fence parallel with the driver's side against the fence. Then simply exit the vehicle and walk over to the nugget. Simple as.... Hope you find this useful. M

For those purist who say farming only, send them to ollyblogs channel. He says the key to survivingasafarmer in the UK is diversification. IRL farming is more in line with what you are doing on this let's play than what you think. Keep up the great work. Olly also emphasizes mental health as well. Great Vid Paul. Your Imagination holds no bounds. To get that gold nugget on the other side of the fence, just park your pickup, driver side along the fence line and get out of the truck. It will then put you the other side of the fence so you can collect the nugget👍

You do a great job JiM, your maps are by far my favorite to play. Now I'm just hoping one day you'll have inspiration to make a hybrid of this style where you have the freedom to build as you want, but also have a small town with a small handful of npc farms around the map with 2-4 assorted sized fields of their own. My wife loves to do contracts in between me building our farm.

Also as regards the "kango" here in Ireland kango is usually hand held electric powered, jack hammer is usually pneumatic / hydraulic powered bigger piece of kit about waist high, and rock-breaker is attached to a excavator powered through the hydraulic's.

Speaking of the “it’s not farming” crowd honestly the only thing that has ever bugged me is adding forestry but skipping the aspects of actual tree commercial farming like Christmas trees, an orchard/fruit/nut tree system in base game, nursery farms where you grow trees people buy to plant. It’s my same issue with how many crops are not in base game, especially with interesting growing/harvesting techniques like mushrooms, rice, cranberries, pumpkins, melon, berries, etc. Adding new things like field flooding, hiring hand pickers for delicate things like berries, tree shakers, etc are all widely used farming things that should be in base game not just on certain maps or through mods. The other of course is more animals with interesting processes. Rabbits in hutches, maybe a compost system that involves worms, offshoots of base animals like goats/alpaca/ducks or oddballs like Emu/Bison. There is just so many aspects of real farming that’s not in base game (and often not in mods), especially small farming, modern organic farming, and near future/modern stuff like drones/hydroponic towers/laser weed removal/alternative fuels.

Farming isn't just going back and forth in the field. I have to cut the trees out of the fence to keep my cattle out of the field until I've baled the hay. I can cut the trees, move the fence, and pull the stumps, and expand my fields. I'm a rancher, but that doesn't stop me from selling cedar stays (fence posts), and I also don't have a problem selling gravel from my gravel pit.

I'm a Heavy equipment operator with about 16 years in mining IRL and Stewart's bowl is a wonderful representation of blasting a bench in mining industry. Accept there is no flame sorry :( . The 980K is a wonderful machine and even with a oversize bucket doesn't require extra weights but we do run with fluid in the rear wheels. So how I'm doing the gold processing is having stone delivered to a stock pile. (I wish the silage clamp would let you dump stone in in there that's a way we store stone IRL at a landscaping Yard). And leasing trk and trl plus cost of buying stone represents actual cost IRL for 100,000 L of stone. Farm on

Well Mr Sealyp, I've been following your series, and am now here on episode 13, watching your videos has given me a great ideas and pointers as well as a learning experience, I'm sorta of following in your footsteps but doing it a bit different, I am using the tree field but I plan on keeping it as a tree farm, The abandoned farm I plan on using it for my home and equipment yard, but first I plan on doing Klutch's 10 million Dollar, 10 year challenge in order to obtain it. OK so I gave the Lizard 560C tree harvester a go but found the controls a bit clumsy compared to the king, but I was going to push forward to learn it but after finding a tree it wouldn't fit I kicked it to the curb. Enjoying your videos. I remember in one of your episodes you mention how deferent words were pronounced from different areas. one word does come to mind and that is "Methane" we here in the states pronounce it (Meth-ane) opposed to (Me-thane) which is how you pronounce it the "e" in meth is sort of silent for us.

The wheel loader can barely pick up the bucket load. The TLX doesn't even flinch with the same amount of weight. You do not need to justify your use of the TLX tipper back. Follow your own saying "play the game the way you want to"

I love the use of American history in your lets play, but....Jeb Stewart was Calvary commander for Robert E Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia.... and after the battle of Chancellorsville, Lee sent him on a more easterly route into Pennsylvania thru Maryland, so the only real problem with your story is that this map is The Western Wilds, not the East coast wilds lol

"Kango-hammer" seems very fitting for the British dialect, you saying "jack hammer" just doesn't sound right with your accent. (Plus Knango hammer just sounds cooler lol) I work in a quarry, kinda. I work for an aggregate and concrete company, I drive the redimix trucks. So you're pretty spot on with your story line, which was a brilliant idea and nicely executed. As far as the diehards that say "it's farming Simulator, there shouldn't be any forestry", I've never met a farmer that didn't own a Chainsaw, that wasn't ready to cut some trees down for field expansion and for firewood. Not to mention, TREE FARMS??? There's lots of tree farms out there for wood pulp for paper. Any farmer out there is looking to make the most of their time, and to not ever run out of money makings. I don't understand these people that say "you can't do that on this, you're HAVE to do it THIS way". If it were said to me, I'd have a few choice words for them, of which I won't say on MrSealyP's video. DO YOU. Don't worry about it I'm not doing it the way you would.

Hi Mr sealy p your videos are great apart from your map tour have you tried the cow farm like you say its crazy I've done six days on that map it's near impossible to keep all the cows fed I the six days I've gone through so much tmr I had to get a multifruit silo just to try and get things under control I would say this is a great multiplayer map but on your own is a real struggle I'm trying out the packing factory mod too so got rid of pig pens and made a production area for everything I'm enjoying it just a lot of work keep up the good videos

Farming doesn't stop at just farming. I'm not a farmer but I don't grow my own fruits, veggies ect. And own a decent chunk of land. It never stops. There's always something to do. And these farmers own thousands of acres of land. Smaller farmers own a couple hundred. It never stops. Downing trees, fire wood, moving rocks, boulders. It all comes with owning land. And it never stops

It has evolved. But you can play it as you want. If you want to just farm then you can. If you want to just run productions you can pretty much just do that. Logging etc. it’s really a game you can play they way you want to. Realistic. Unrealistic.

I’m not positive but I believe he created it from using the place able rock pack from Alien Jim (btw love his mods and recommend them all) and just placed the rocks down and then put the gravel in the center to make a rock quarry.. but I do think it would be an awesome mod!

It's not free. He invested a ton of time and effort into building it, moving all the stones in then the story line and editing that was involved. There really is no other way to do gold production on this map as I've collected stones from the fields I've ploughed and you will never get enough to feed the facility

For all the "purists" out there, unless you inherit 3,000 acres or more cleared, you're going to have to do logging. If you plan on expanding, logging is inevitable. Whether you do it yourself or hire someone, it's part of farming. I understand that you're talking about people who play the game strictly for the farming aspect. I'm just being real about it.

Mr P I have xbox series x and had the problem with options not being on the list like open cover etc. I have never used that trailer you use. If I detach then reattach the tool then all the options show up again.

It's not. I loose my keybindings on every restart and have to go into the menu to do a full reset. I've been on FS22 forums and it's a common problem. I've never used that trailer.

I think all the other parts of the game make it way more playable......so much to do it's keeps the game alive.....and there is now a end to what your doing.....a purpose....so to speak......crops go to products....so a end and purpose to what your doing....perhaps it's me

You tested a vehicle for hauling rocks not long ago. The pickup is not a realistic rock hauler.

This line of thinking always amuses me. In the real world famers aren't multi millionaires that go and buy the exact right gear before doing a job. Farmers are the original "make do with what we have" people. Maybe that pickup isn't the best rock hauler but the farmer is going to make it work. He might as MrSealyP did, only put a small amount in to protect the suspension and just make more trips but he certainly wont be going to the store to drop a ton of money on getting "the right thing"
