FS25 How Big can you make a meadow on a cow barn ?( We make a mess )

Ok a few things I have learned: -meadow is not regenerating. If you choose ‘yes’ when it asks to plant meadow then it will not grow back. You can instead seed the area with grass first and it will regenerate (and respects seasons, if turned on) - the size of the pasture doesn’t enable you to put in more hay/tmr to the barn. So you can run out really fast; which leads me to the next major problem: - cows don’t get health from grass. They need hay, or TMR to get health… which is the same logic ported over from FS22, is completely ridiculous, and defeats the purpose of a large pasture for cows. - for sheep, or goats, they do get 100% health from grass, and can have a ginormous pasture. The problem with that will be spawn area for their pallets of wool or milk. What we need is a shining knight of a modder to create us a cow barn that converts the pastures regenerating grass into hay, so that the cows can be healthy and productive without requiring you to park a global pallet full of hay or tmr in the input area… although thinking out loud that might be a solution!

Thanks for that . You can overload the feed area with bales as well . The global pallet may work in 25 but we dont have it yet 🤔 it kind of worked in 22 but you had to move it every morning to activate it 🫤

@ yes, I am sure it won’t be far away 😝 wonder if you park it on a low loader if it would continue to drop into the spawn, without moving. I was able to do that with big bags of TMR in FS22

I use one of the feeding wagons for a mixed rations and just keep it sitting there full

If you use the 45,000 l one it'll only use one full load of via and then if you mix it again it all use about half of that every month for 1100 cows

If you want it straight just turn snapping on. Also the auto feed pen wouldn't have been a bad idea. Either way thanks for the answer to a question ive been asking myself.

Also i noticed a new game play machine for when you are unloading a combine on the go. If the worker reaches the end of a pass before they are empty they will now stop and wait untill they finish unloading before starting to turn around. On fs22 they would just start turning

You have to pass one day to get the meadow to grow the first time. Meadow grass only gives 40% which is not enough to advance productivity. Meadow grass is enough to feed sheep and goats but not cows or buffalo. I haven't tried building a big barn, but I do play with a 4-day month so I should be able to keep up with the feeding if I can produce enough silage.

I think it's a shame that they have put a limit on only 25 cows to be rendered into the pasture regardless of how many cows you have. I believe this is a console limitation that also affects PC players as there is only one version of the game there is an argument to be had that they should have two versions of the game a PC version that then doesn't have those console limitations. We know from FS22 for modded maps that we can have a lot more than just 25 cows rendered in, I think one modded map had it in the hundreds and it ran perfectly fine. I do think this number could've been increased to run on console perfectly fine as we know once something is duplicated it uses much less resources.

@@LooneyFarmGuy Fair point and makes perfect sense, it's defiantly a shame, I'm not a console hater. I started playing this game on console before I transitioned to PC but I do believe the game would benefit from having two separate versions although now I completely understand why they cannot, crossplay is definitely more important than my previous points.

Have you had any problems getting manure from cows or buffalo? I get it for a month and then it doesn’t produce any more

Testing idea for you. The weight we got today and hook the pin from the other weight and leave 3 point open. Think that might work? I'm on pc no way to test it. Just looking for a way for the console to fast farm if they wanted to.

Day you set 2 starts the next month i used modded cow barns ones in 22 the 500 cow barn held 400,000 liters of tmr and the 300 lizard ones held 225,000 of tmr i had a total of 1,900 cows they ate about 1,200,000 tmr a month i did a similar test too on these custom barns for fs25 cause like do animals the food felt off hoping they fix the food. Also note i discovered you can do custom fences with large sheep barn it gives the same number sheep as it would for cows it figure they being smaller animal 😂 yeah i waiting for the high capacity factory tmr mixers mods and fermenting silos myself

I had no hope of feeding 4000 cows with what we have available at the moment 🤪
