Steves a real man, you can tell by the way he spent two hours trying to figure out how to get the gate open, instead of swallowing his pride and asking for help.

You can easily enter a truckshow with Orwell. Together with our humble host, he's working his way around the clock. My opinion is that the hard working older trucks, needs the same appreciation as them show and shines. Orwell has a bit of patina, but a heritage in the trucking industry that most trucks never accomplish, but would be proud of. Follow your heart, and do what YOU want. You're a stand up good guy 👍👍

Great video as always! I was once one of the guys wearing a inmate uniform on the Federal level. My last 2 years were spent driving a classic xl, Mack roll off, and taking guys to the bus station or airport when released. There aren't a lot of opportunities but if you take advantage of what's available you can leave with a viable skill.

Great video FSC. It showed really what it’s like when you show up to do a pick up and you got to figure out all the things you have to do to get it up on the deck. Not many loads are straight forward. Now a days the driver is usually left with a mess. But your an old pro at solving the problems that shippers put in your lap. So you found a place relatively close by to layover that had all the amenities a truck driver need?. Like the video FSC. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails and happy motoring.

I'm with you Steve, I'd like to see the industry come back in a big way. We've sold out industry to China like idiots and it is to our country's detriment. I love seeing railroads come back to life or historic roads still in use. I live outside of DC and near a Norfolk Southern line that has been a train line since before the civil war and is still in daily use by them, Amtrak, and Virginia Railway Express commuter trains to DC. I think its pretty cool that a line that exists was used to transport supplies and troops during the Civil War is still being used 24/7 in 2023.

Just my 2 cents worth. I would prefer seeing a true working truck, like Orwell, to the princess trucks whose “work” consists of pulling a trailer to the service dealer every 3 months to prove they do something. Don't get me wrong I like the princess trucks - some are fabulous - but a work truck out does them everyday. Its to late now but next year put Orwell on show - not a “shine and show” but let people see what a truck that earns its keep looks like.

I don't know about there but in Shreveport Louisiana there is an abandoned line running North/South they state wants to make a walking trail but in the contracts way back when have a clause that if the line was ever abandoned the land would revert to the individual land owners. The land owners are fighting for the return but the state is fighting to keep it. I've since moved away from there so I don't know what t he ultimate outcome ended up being.

For some reason freightshakers and sterlings ( both made by Daimler ag) like using some of the most brittle plastic for their dashboards known to man. At least on M2's you can still buy replacement pieces but sterlings have been discontinued since 09. I'm a tech and I've gotten really good at resecuring those pieces of shit. What was wrong with the old L9000 dash? Metal, screws, panels, easy to open up. These break breathing on the damn things. The dash valves are always loose and wobbly because the inner skeleton is plastic as well. Same problem with M2's. The kick panel cover on the passenger floor access to the cabin filter and blower motor likes to fuck off too. At least the sterlings is under the hood on the fire wall
