Brings back memories for me. I started out as a drivers mate on heavy haul in the UK. Spent a lot of time crawling around and splitting trailers just like this. Eventually the company got us a hydraulic set up with a donkey engine. Everything was done by pulling levers. Some of the really old stuff had axles at the back that came off and you drove stuff up that way. Steve, you work too hard buddy lol. Respect mate.

You take me back man.. I drove for Werner Enterprises back when they had a fleet of mostly Cabover Pete 362's and a few AeroDyne KW's. I drove a typical 1988 cabover 362 Pete, mostly blue with white wheels, CAT engine and the solid darker blue trailers they had then. You were probably in grade school. The old school truck stops are gone now replaced by Disney Land Travel Stops for todays flip-flop wearing drivers. Seeing the interior of a mid 80's Cabover Pete again is so cool.. NOW, anything east of I-35 and north of I-70 is a total zoo.. Sorry but it's just too damn crowded with distracted clowns now...THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS..

I think folks might have liked to see how the neck fits into the drive lugs, also how the neck fits into and is held by the pin (little pull pin) on the trailer. We would always deflate the rear suspension. Ahh good old putting the neck on with a big load on the trailer. It was always hard to estimate just how much extra space was needed to get the neck on. The angle of the deck is tipped back towards the load, several to six inches or so beyond the ninety-degree where you'd think it should be. I have come up short more than once. Yes, the deck drops back to ninety or even a forward angle when connected and loaded. In this case, it's easy to move the truck back but when you have something like a container sitting on the deck, it ain't so easy to move... Just remembering another fun thing with the trailer, getting the neck back on when you cannot make the truck straight to the trailer. Sure a little off it usually finds itself. When it's more, it is a challenge or can be, good old memories ;)

Steve u should get a jump box really handy to have. Hell I had to get Jessie to back up one of those flatbed trucks before. And I was like you gotta get speed backing up and dam did she. She was like that's scary. Cause she thought it was going to slide off on the side. 2 different driver's they have a heavy duty wrench in the back of there semi's. And they just use the wrench to load truck's up on the flatbed trailer. They have ramps that folds up and down. Nana was like that's interesting how he explained the teardown. She was like why does he have to turn the dump valve off and on behind his semi truck and your's is on the dashboard on your KW and I said his is older than our's 1978 KW. And she's like did u install the dump valve switch and I said yeah when we rebuilt the KW year's ago. Before it had a valve almost where your's is located at. She was like hell he used the same setup strapping it down. I said all of our driver's do that. Hope you all had a good Christmas we did. Christmas Day at night we had a bonfire at my Godmother's House also co-owner. It was nice having it. Cause it was 30 year's on Christmas Day that I lost my Grandparents by a drunk driver. My grandparents was Jessie's grandma and grandpa's best friend's.

Capturing all the footage with what you're looking at with the chest cam is more difficult rather than using the head cam. As long as you have another camera going, (which you do in this video), it just might make for a better viewing experience for most. I personally liked the head cam... even though I know they are more of a headache for the person wearing it. But at the same time, you don't have to worry about the extra weight on your head. You do you. Great explanation of the trailer breakdown/hook up for those that didn't know. Heck, there was a time I didn't know myself. Have a good one Steve. On to the next one.

@@MingMerciless-d5d Steve doesn't like having equipment with extra failure points.
