Oh my gosh 😍! My dreams as an avid helicopter-simmer finally come through. Can't believe this stuff. Since FS2004 I'm waiting for this level of detail, almost 20 years. Not only regarding scenery design but missions too. I've always missed the missions of FS2004/FSX in MSFS2020, but now things come together. I'm soooo glad that Asobo/Microsoft didn't forget us rotorheads and GA-pilots beside the "bus-drivers". THANK YOU SO MUCH! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! ❤❤❤ And, honestly, I've also missed the avatar function like in P3D, not only in MSFS2020 but in many other flightsims too.

Great interview, and great job by the developers! I'm definitely very excited to upgrade to the 2024 experience. VR all the way! I'm very excited for all the visual and physics improvements. I was SO excited to finally see animated passengers, real activities with purpose, and even the ability to walk around! I know a lot of simmers may be all about the cockpit, but I'm all about every aspect of flight - including the airports themselves, INSIDE and out, as well as the full cabin with passengers in them - so, I'm hoping to see a lot more of that as well. I want to be able to walk through the cabins, open and close the windows and doors, etc. etc. Ability to use VR controllers to interact would take things to another level, but nothing specific about VR has been said so far.

Idk how people (especially on livestream) were complaining about stuff. They are doing above and beyond what I ever would have imagined! MSFS2020 was perfect in my mind (other than a few bugs here and there) but with all the things being added it is clear that this will be the best flight sim ever made
@tedswordАй бұрын
I don't mean to be argumentative or troll. I do think that there are a lot of things missing or wrong: 1. ATC: Not accurate. Other than big-picture items missing like IFR not being well fleshed out, emergency procedures and deviations, and different transition levels and procedures around the world, even small things like the words being stated are not right. That could be fixed with a much easier lift than fixing IFR because they're simply contained in a text file. All someone has to do is change the words being said, and that hasn't been done. Class B and class C airspace is treated the same way for VFR traffic, which is not right. 2. As far as I'm aware, the key bindings for propeller feathering don't work. (I haven't flown for a while, so I don't know if it's fixed, but the bug is still there in the forums.) This is a fundamental part of multi-engine flying that you must be able to demonstrate in your checkride as a multi-engine pilot. 3. Weather: Wind shear and updrafts and downdrafts in towering cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds, and if I'm not mistaken, even depictions of TCUs and CBs. Cirrus clouds also don't exist in 2020: Real cirrus clouds are made of ice crystals and are not cotton balls. So you can't simply shrink an MSFS 2020 cloud layer down to be very thin and call it a cirrus cloud. 4. Airports aren't right. They're missing ILS hold short signs (or any procedure to hold short at them), tower (again with ATC) gives you taxi clearance all the way to your runway instead of stopping you at the second runway you have to cross. Runway guard lights, runway status lights, runway distance remaining signs, double-sided taxiway signs, lighted windsocks, all missing. Blackshark.ai not smart enough to put windsocks in segmented circles, but instead 50 m away. Black lines around yellow paint, which is customary in almost every airport around the world. That's my "mandatory" list. The list of things that are a secondary priority is even longer, with missing "nice-to-have" things like glideslope and localizer antennas, VORs and NDBs, runway cones, etc. Also, many, many airports devoid of buildings. Again, not here to be argumentative. I enjoy the sim and I don't want to take away from anyone's enjoyment. But there are still a lot of gaps, in my opinion.

Seb really deserved all the applause in the room for that amazing work put into MSFS 2024. JORG: About "all the planes shown in the demo will be in 2024 for free" - is that counting for helicopters as well?? (I hope so!) :) :) Great interview, thank you!

He probably meant every aircraft we saw is my guess
@Rafmeistr3 ай бұрын
The ability to walk around is awesome, just admiring the aircraft or doing actual walk arounds is going to be a cool addition the the sim that i was sorely missing. Also the “rp” factor of it, landing somewhere and getting to walk around, greet customers or whatever and then hop back into your aircraft is going to be very cool. Just sitting in the cockpit becomes a little boring after a while
@swipefn19313 ай бұрын
I never thought of it that way, but it's true. Walking around your plane really will emphasize the immersion much more when you actually go and sit in the cockpit.

First thing first, I would like to say I appreciate all the work they have been doing and for bringing the sim back to life. They have done so much! The one thing that really stumps me and kind of irritates me is how they still don’t really address the big items for the hardcore simmers like myself. Weather radar, we keep getting a we are working on it and that’s all for the past 4-6 years. What about the aerodynamics, how much has it changed and what has improved, ATC if either it has been massively improved or still on the works, weather system like is clouds are seeing upgrades and such. So many important aspects of the sim that still need a bit more work and they keep getting dodging the questions.

FLIGHT MODEL QUESTION: Most YT channels that compare the MSFS and X-Plane platforms don't do a proper job of demonstrating various critical maneuvers. Try the cross control / base to final / too low - too slow maneuver. This is a critical maneuver that has been removed from PPL Skill Set. CFI's only demo this pilot killer at altitude. Student pilots don't have to demonstrate this to their CFI or to the Checkride DPE. No one remembers Asobo's DIRECT ASSURANCE during the by private invitation only, Global Preview Event that MSFS's thousand points on the wing flight model will properly have the C172 spin in. A broken promise.

Weather, ATC, fix timezone issues, working wipers, cumulonimbus up to 60k, we need more cloud types. Once you have actual storms we need wx radar. Some type of airport AFCAD gui program to edit airports. Nobody is asking about performance? Are there going to be multiple versions like premium, deluxe, etc? Even with all this 2024 is looking promising.
@tedswordАй бұрын
Re: Jorg at 10:50 about real-time tornadoes saying there is no such system. Not directly, but there are various things you can see on radar such as a hook echo or outflow boundary, even sometimes debris. In other words, you could infer the presence of a tornado. You would need radar data to do this, and not all of the world has this kind of radar coverage. On the other hand, tornadoes also only occur in specific places in the world. Now, tornadoes are rare, and so are rainbows, and there is no real-time rainbow system in the world to tell you where those are. Any such system in MSFS would have to apply some kind of confidence scale to the proper conditions to infer a tornado, and do it carefully enough so as not to produce false positives all over the place. Extra rainbows where they don't exist in real life, no big deal. Extra tornadoes where they don't exist in real life, big deal.

I think they still don't understand the request for historical weather. It isn't about "weather events" like hurricane "xy", it's about normal wx from 6 hours ago or two days ago. Because today's wx is too bad for VFR or because I want to fly in a different time zone!
@CharlieFoxtrot003 ай бұрын
He explained that the historical data aren’t available worldwide. I don’t know how far back or how granular he’s talking, but from that perspective, it is problematic because it won’t match areas in which the data don’t exist. I have a feeling this problem is worse the farther back you go.

Cirrus clouds don’t form at 5k feet MSL (they can form down to 15k, typically at higher latitudes). The fact that tornadoes are only in the mission system tells me they will be like 2020 activities and not an emergent career mode utilizing live weather. It also reveals there may still not be appropriate considerations for convective systems and the hazards they pose to aviation.
