I think the first time I saw this on TV was the 1993 FSU-NC State game, hours after Notre Dame had lost to Boston College and the Seminoles were going to be No. 1 again if they won impressively. (ND had beat the Noles by a touchdown in South Bend to knock FSU down to #2.) They showed the whole stadium doing the War Chant, and I remember thinking the Wolfpack, who were actually pretty good, were f**ked. Florida State would have destroyed any college team that night. FSU won the game 62-3 and went on to win their first national championship.

Every other school: For our running onto the field sequence we play our fight song with the marching band and run out with smoke machines Florida State: We have an actual Seminole brave who rides out onto the field with a flaming spear and throws it down at the 50 yard line, letting the world know that we are the only unconquered Native American tribe remaining and we will fight to the death.

I mean isnt being commercialised as good as being conquored?

@@jamesdavey5104 self commercialized. They make hundreds of millions from gambling
@aaronsimmons67182 жыл бұрын
@@jamesdavey5104 not necessarily commercialized. The Seminole tribe of Florida has given full consent for the name and usage of the Seminole tribe. The garb the the student atop renegade wears is donated to the university by the Seminole tribe of Florida.
@u13erfitz2 жыл бұрын
@@jamesdavey5104 Yeah but no more commercialized than any other tribe or people. How much money do people make off of Roman or Greek likenesses. People like to copy things that are exemplary. Seminoles are known for their bravery and ferocity in battle.

Really miss home games living in Tallahassee. I'd sit outside and listen to the game, I lived walking distance from Raa middle school, on Proctor. If everyone got loud I had time to run inside and see it on TV.

Tennessee fan and Pride of the Southland Band alumnus here. I love our pregame and wouldn't trade Rocky Top for anything. But this just hits differently. My goodness the goosebumps from this. How can you not want to run through a wall after this?
