Trey, last year was the Mother of all Anomalies. Just like it's pointless to talk about the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago with respect to future dinosaurs, the events of last year were a one-off and won't ever happen again. There was absolutely nothing that Norvell could have done differently since there's no way he would have known all the dynamics at play that the CFB snub initiated. He could have brought in Ohio State's offense and defense and they still would have gone off the rails since they were not the family that went 23-3 for the two years prior to the snub. The family analogy fits when you consider the break-up of that football family similar to the break-up of a large family following the end of a marriage. The remaining family members may join with another large family also from a broken home but creating a blended family is not a replacement for the original. The expectation that all of the kids will eventually get along with each other is unrealistic. This was the Mike's expectation in thinking he could recreate the 2023 team by finding the right players in the portal. In realty, the 2023 team could never be recreated no matter who he picked to replace them. The players and coaches most connected to the 2023 team are gone and that's another reason why the memories of 2024 should likew sir be forgotten.

Did you watch the video or just read the title? I was pretty clear that there were massive holes in his game but that he managed to win despite that and that the staff had proven us wrong about transfers before. No one on this channel, especially me, thought DJ was good, just that he could have fit Norvell system. No one expected this OL to be as bad as they were. It's not very hard to watch a 8 minute video before you make unsubstantiated claims.
