Thanks for posting this - the best Romeo and Juliet version. Yuri Grigorovich is amazing. He knows his "jumpers" and put them to show the world how a proper Russian Ballet is done!!! Otlichna!

Hurray! Someone at last who admires Alexander Vetrov. I loved him as Tybalt. He went to the States with his wife and son, joined a company and rejoined the Bolshoi as teacher I believe. Is he still there? I think he was superb and was a big admirer at the time. I have the dvd of his Tybalt and a book with photos of that video. Still have a large photo of him as Tybalt on my wardrobe. I was always wondering about his parents. Was Tamara Vetrov his mother. I know his father was a great teacher and he is related to Yuri Vetrov somehow. I never completely found out. Thank you for posting.🇬🇧

@@tiggywinkle20 Yes, he is a very important teacher at the Bolshoi now. I am also a big admirer of him! He has a great genius for dance. Thank goodness he can give his students a lasting, very special guidance. Right now is not a good time at the Bolshoi with Vaziev and Gergiev.

The music is from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikowsky; "Tchaikovsky wrote several works well known among the general classical public-Romeo and Juliet".

No it's not. It's Prokofiev

Hello, I had the same question a few weeks ago and I got the following answer from a Vetrov Fan : "Romeo&Juliet... Hi, you know that there is a DVD out of this ballet by the Bolshoi and starring A.Vetrov as Tybalt but no one else from this particular clip which I understand is from Russian TV. "
@tiggywinkle20 Жыл бұрын
To Maria Muller. You wrote this 15 years ago. There is a dvd of Vetrov as Tybalt and I have it. It was filmed for Russia by the Japanese. A bit dark in places but fantastic dancing from all. I was disappointed in Bessmertnova’s dress. Not really suitable for that particular period. She was great dancer with superb legs. Hope you found dvd.🇬🇧

@pediatrapaola That's right, but his attack and intensity was fabulous and remained insurpassed. It's not "too mush miming", it was 100 percent miming part. Like Girei in The Fountain of Bahkchisarai. Look, the point here is not just dancing, but image.
