I"m having problems accessing the memory banks I've created since doing the MARS/CAP MOD? Can someone help me?

backed up? you mean in the yaesu software... yes.. prior to the MOD I was able to access the banks.. but now..just see the bank titles.. but can't dive into them so to speak .. to scan the channels i've saved in the banks.
@JoeDauen6 жыл бұрын
Steve Frias Yeah you will have to go back into the software and reload what you backed up, then all should work fine..

Hi. I own an FT1XDR. all of them have one large problem with the battery. If you use more than one battery swiping a dead battery with a charged one. The battery clips get week and the radio turns off if shaken. W8DEJ. Dan
@JoeDauen6 жыл бұрын
Daniel Jenkins I've noticed mine getting weak, I've have also noticed if your running aprs and GPS it seems to drain the battery fast, within 4 to 5 hours. Appreciate your feedback! 73 ke0mje
@ronlewis63944 жыл бұрын
It appears to me that the FT-70D was geared to be more of a Digital HT. Not having GPS, vib.alert and other feathers makes it hard to do APRS and other task. Seems it was build with System Fusion and Wires-X in mind. Duel Band yes, but no duel scan makes it hard to work Satellites or operate on VHF/UHF bands together.
@JoeDauen4 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree. I think they were looking for a cheaper ht but fell short in my opinion, being the ft1dr which is older could do so much more. Ke0mje 73

Great video! I have both the ft-1 and FT-2. I like both radios. I thought i would sell the FT-1 once i bought the FT-2. However, couple years latter and I just can't part with the FT-1. I like th size of it and durability of it. Due to the touch screen on the FT-2 it is a bit more fragile. The FT-2, in my opinion is easier to program and navigate through the menu.
@JoeDauen5 жыл бұрын
I recently purchased the ft2dr they had it on sale for a price that was hard to turn down! I also have no plans on selling any of the other models. The ft1dr has been such a solid radio for me along with the ft70 it's just a all around great line of HTs.. 73 ke0mje

May i ask a question. Can the FT2D do everything the VX-6R can do? Should i get the VX-6R or FT2D or any other of Yaesu's handheald HT's?
@JoeDauen6 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with the VX-6R but I can tell you it can tx/rx on 1.25 and the ft2dr can only rx but the 6r does not offer c4fm digital fusion or aprs like the ft2dr does. So it really comes down to what your looking to do. I personally think the ft2dr offers way more options, including wires x functions but I enjoy that, you may not. Good Luck ke0mje 73

Great video. Now that CHIRP software has been updated to work with the FT-70D can you possibly post a video showing connecting it to the program? (Also a video doing the 1.1 firmware update). Also, what cable are you using to connect the FT-70D? Thanks
@JoeDauen6 жыл бұрын
Andy Gippetti Thanks, the ft70 just uses the standard usb cord which comes with it if you purchased it new... I really like chirp but when they first break a radio down, it's basicly a test run which can result in problems with the radio so normally I wait to see other reviews just to be safe.. When they first broke down the ft1dr it moved features around and caused the receive to lower but it was fixed within a month.. I'm going to be doing the firmware video and I can also do the software video as well, just a matter of getting a little free time.. Subscribed and I'll shoot you a message when I upload the video! 73 to you and yours.. ke0mje

I am using FT2DR, FT1XDR & 8DR, the FT1XD offers outstanding GPS that far stronger than it's brothers, thus I wonder the GPS of older model FT1D may not that weak and I am wondering to buy the silver color version because of the uniqueness of finishes. The 1XD works great I love it, would recommend it rather than FT70DR if it is still available. There is one common problem of the 2D 1D & 8D, that is the battery mounting design. The battery comes off very ease it is not safe to clip the radio to a belt. But the FT70D don't have this problem.
@JoeDauen6 жыл бұрын
bongo tang The ft2dr is gonna be my next buy. I know the ft1xdr has that upgraded GPS and the reviews are outstanding on it, would you say the ft2dr comes close to the ft1xdr when it comes to gps?
@bongotang6 жыл бұрын
In terms of GPS, 2D and 8D are similar. 1XD able to receive GPS at indoor (both my workplace and home) when it is close to a window but the 2D and 8D never. At outdoor surround by tall buildings, 1XD always response faster and sometimes stronger (means 2D receive nothing). I like APRS very much thus most of the time 1XD is in my bag even the 2D offers user-friendly touchscreen typing. In case someone like to listen with an earphone all the time like me during office hours, the 2D is a better choice because the volume adjustment not only easier but also more flexible. For example, the min volume of 1XD is "1", but the 2D can be "0.9" "0.8" or lower.
