Damdai was a very strong player, but Yondaime was the best Sagat player in the world and had a lot of experience against Futachan Ryu and Ta.tsumaki S.Ryu. Damdai, on the other hand, had mostly online experience against ultracombo. It is no wonder things went down like they did.

When a lot of people play this game in the US, you get a lot of different types of players. If that happened, Mr. Damdai would have acquired many skills.

Damdai is a super player, this video shows nothing is forever maybe he is getting old. The other guy was amazing by the way.

@kmden Rt probably not the best example. Aniken has clearly slowed down as evidenced by the loss to that guile player.

@kmden Rt Yes he would and that isn't being debated, but good as he is i highly doubt he's better than a prime muteki. In fact I know he isn't. Aniken traditionally did well against guile players including Muteki so the heavy loss to Shoten was pretty shocking. Anikens style is a young man's style, dynamic, unpredictable and heavily reaction based. Old man reactions are a real thing and Aniken more than most needs those reactions .My point was that using aniken to illustrate players who are old but still gold probably wasnt the best one to pick. Go back and watch old aniken footage and contrast it to today and you will see exactly what im on about. The truth is that shoten didn't beat aniken, old age beat aniken. The one thing we are in agreement about is that US generally gets bodied by Japan in ST.

スーパーリュウの攻めを、きっちり処理できるサガット使いの方が凄い・・・もちろんそうなんだが、ダムダイは波動とジャンプ大キックくらいしかやってない。それでもキャラが強いので良い勝負になってる。全てはキャラ性能。ただそれだけ。

インドでーす damdaiがやや遠めの間合いでの戦いを選択した時点でsリュウの主な選択肢は波動とJ大Kに限られる。他の選択肢は下タイガー読みの地上竜巻とアパカミス期待の空中竜巻くらいしかない。どちらも奇襲で多用してはいけない。あとは波動フェイントだけどそれはdamdaiもやってる。飛び道具の性能差を活かそうとやや遠めの間合いを選択した時点でdamdaiよりうまいリュウ使いでも波動とJ大Kしかやることはないからそれは別に重要ではない。飛び道具の性能差というすぐわかる見かけの性能差を隠れたキャラ性能を活かして覆した。そこが四代目が評価されてる理由。
