That disconnection.... FTC has to find a better way.... It plagued our team so much last year, and this year caused such a big impact on the outcome of the world championship final....

Last season my team couldn't do driver controlled because our controllers were disconnected and wouldn't connect. It took like 10 minutes for the refs to decide to start the match, and our teammate carried us to a win. By the end of the match we had one controller working but we didn't think to change between first and second controllers so we just delivered stones, when we could've done start+b on that controller to get the arm working... Right after the match an FTA brought us a different usb cable to connect our controllers... it worked first try. Idk why they didn't do that before the match but we won so it's fine.

Our 5-glyph auto definitely didn't work every match. Even after a lot of tuning in Detroit, we only got 3 or 4 glyphs in earlier Edison elims. Luckily, it performed as designed in both finals matches other than having a jewel ball in the way in match 1. We'll tell more about how we did the auto in the reveal video comments.

Is it vision based then?

We used vision to find glyphs in States and Super Regionals, but for Worlds, we just used a distance sensor to detect if a glyph was in front of the robot. That allowed us to move the phone to the side and drive forward off the balancing stone instead of sideways.
