Hey, you mentioned scottonsiewilson. I watched his successful 28 ship run live 5 years ago and celebrated the victory. I was there when it happened. I've always wanted to know whatever happened to him. Where did he go?

Scottonesiewilson was a great guy, he stopped by my stream occasionally and was an AMAZING FTL player. Mike Hopley, another well-known FTL KZbinr, is the one who let me know about his passing, which was some of the saddest news I've heard recently.

I'm a youtube viewer (and I been loving the streak so far), i'd love if you put the stream chat somewhere on the screen, since you always talk about what they are saying. At the end of the run: 2:22:45 you talk about someone sending a wall of text, i would like to read that. If possible. Anyways, good luck man, you have some great videos on VOD. Sorry for the bad english, I'm from Argentina.

The correct timestamp is 2:22:30. I know that the ftl scren is quite packed with things, I guess that best option is to have a chat box in the top right corner of the screen (a small chat box 😅)

Thanks for watching, Guido! Unfortunately, I do not have plans to ever put chat on screen because, personally, I do not enjoy streams with chat on screen because I find it distracting. I know this is disappointing to some KZbin viewers, but there are VoD's on Twitch available that DO have the chat replayed with the stream video if you're really interested. You hack charged weapons simply because you get the "pause" time of the duration of the hack, AND the "recharge" time of how long it takes them to get those hacked weapons back up to the original charge (because now they have spent twice the time to get to the same level). If for example you hacked immediately, the weapon cant be decharged as its already at zero charge, so you only get the pause time from the hack. It's not rocket science. Using totally fake numbers, lets say the enemy has a big giant missile that takes them 20 seconds to charge. You can hack it, and it will suck 15 seconds of charge out of that, IF there is 15 seconds of charge available. The duration of your hack is 10 seconds. Hack at 15 seconds or later: 10 seconds of hack pause + 15 seconds of recharging = 25 seconds gained. Hack at 10 seconds: 10 seconds of hack pause + only 10 seconds of recharging = 20 seconds gained. Hack at 0 seconds: 10 seconds of hack pause + 0 seconds of recharging = 10 seconds gained. Thats the basics. It gets more complicated if you are factoring in your own hack recharge time and their weapons, looking to make sure you can double hack just in time, etc. But generally 99% of the time, you are going to be best off just maximizing the time gained in your first hack. That's time they aren't attacking you with weapons, and time you are spending damaging their offensive systems.
