for the anti mind control part, why not just mind control your mind controlled crew. All of sylvan's crew are slugs so you don't need it for anything else.

@@terryisop I kid you not, equalizer will kill everything that doesn't have a ton of overshields. Sylvan on lower difficulties? Erased. The flagship? Cut into millions of pieces. Renegades? You don't even need the Voulge for them. C.U.R.A. Supreme? Probably turned to scrap as fast as your beam can cut the ship apart. Royal Obelisks? Get shot in the back of the head by Vance. Vance? He'll have no regrets, except dying to a slug ship. Her? She'd survive unless you can wait for the C.E.L. reinforcement.

@@terryisop I've had two megalomaniac runs. The first time I died to an event because I forgot to not give over the sculpture and took 1 damage. The second time I won after getting 4 beams (Voulge, Halberd, Divider, and the smol one that doesn't require power but isn't a pinpoint) and cut everyone apart.

I feel like getting your hands on a Super Shield is easily the hardest part of this checklist. Obviously, without a Super, you need to have exceptionally good anti-boarding instead.

I think super shields are mandatory for an assured victory. Without them, you can get hacked in a bad spot. Fortunately, if you're going to the... place where you have to fight Sylvan, you'll already have a way to get a guaranteed 3 point super shield.

Use a fire bomb on the weapons room (after you've hacked weapons) to whittle down sylvan's weapons. From best to worst: fire bomb > hades > mod missile with fire = solar kernel > hermes with 80% fire (from transport loot) > dianesh missile

@@potatoheadpokemario1931 It's an augment that you can only get from a special event in Spectral Capital. Make sure to float around 60 scrap to get it from a slug hacker hosting a bidding. For no cost, it will disable enemy autopilots (i.e. limits their piloting to 1 bar). For 2 power, it shuts off their piloting for the entire fight. Emergency generator makes this effect free, so it's a deadly combo that removes any enemy's evasion and ability to run forever.

About your mention of taking out Sylvan's weapons at the end, am I correct in assuming you are referring to the weapon room being resistant?

His weapon room is resistant to normal system damage, so you have a couple of options to neutralise his weapons excluding hacking: 1. Fire 2. Sabotage 3. Ion

Ion is kinda weird, because while it does ensure that his weapons stay down, you also need to actually deal some hull damage to win. If you want to target killing sylvan, cloak + hack + decent missiles + supershield removing stuff is the best way to do it

@@terryisop I wonder if it would be a good idea to troll Sylvan with mine launchers, if a decent ballistic weapon is recommended. Might be expensive on missiles though, unless it's the Nephthys

@Alder Minelaunchers are mainly meant for hull rushing so that's not a bad choice against Sylvan, though they are not exactly ammo-friendly in most cases. If you are low on missiles, then Nephthys or Momus would do the job as long as you have something else to break Sylvan's ever regenerating super shields. Nyx is also fine as it can hullbust and never misses if you have a couple of missiles to spare.

i beat sylvan with the elite duskbringer cruiser. instant clonebay is broken, plus suicide bombing duskbringers invalidates mind control. i didn't even have a way to disable his super shield before it recharged so i just killed off his crew and used augmented to slowly chip his hull. hardlight shielding allowed my duskbringers to take down his weapons way before that since it lets zoltans sabotage with enemy crew present. very underrated lab upgrade especially for duskbringer boarding

@@terryisop yeah, it's cool how an extremely powerful crew like jerry (or functionally infinite crew in this case) can invalidate many of the strongest enemies in this game
