Some quick guidance on the beginning: -You don't get a random weapon; You get to pick a very weak laser, ion, or missile weapon! Despite how weak they are, they're good source of early scrap via selling! -Crew is a lot easier to come by in Multiverse, unless that was changed in their newest version, 5.0. -Not choosing to grab anything delays the fleet. -Always perform a salvage every sector! -P.S. Sylvan the Merchant is great. As you did here, you could sell excess resources, and he sell sets of items at random! If you see him (or anyone else) sell weapons in black & green, DON'T pass up on them. They're a lot stronger than their normal counterparts, and some are a must-grab, such as the Harbinger Mk 1.

Particle beam is one of the best weapons even if you aren't trying to asfixiate your enemy. Being able to sabotage key system rooms in the middle of a fight is amazing as long as you have a good set up of other weapons. Being only two energy cost makes it not a demanding augment to your arsenal.

I play Starcon all the way from 2 until the present day form. I always hated how there was a programmed time push. In other words they try to get me to rush instead of enjoying exploration and random encounters. This games looks interesting but it has that fleet wave thing pressing from the left of the map...
