To all the people who is commenting on the language here.........firstly, even though being a malayalee.....she was brought up largely in chennai nd had been studying in US.....so its very right for her not to get comfortable in a language she wasnt exposed to......or the malayalam she would have mostly heard will be from her parents which actually could nt have helped in learning it much......secondly, even if she is a malayalee, bengali or tamilian.....she has the entire right to speak a language she wants and most comfortable in.......being a malayalee doesnt always require u too be proficient on it......irrespective of all this.....there is a kind of repect we should posses to any language.....and i feel she has it the most:))

A Malayali is the one who proficiently speaks the language, Malayalam. Don't change that definition for your wake sake. If she has been brought up by Malayali parents and she can't speak Malayalam but wanna act in Malayalam movies, some people find it hard to gasp. Language is that thing which binds Malayalis together, Language is culture and if the speakers discard their own language then that culture is dead. Non Tamil/ Telugu actresses become fluent in those language when they act in those language movies. It's just a way of showing respect. Celebrities influence a lot of people or parents. So some people get worried. No hate to Kalyani, she always says she wanna learn the language, and she is trying, but the people like you who says things like A Malayali shouldn't have to speak Malayalam bla bla bla need a reply.
