The big advantage of jolteon over bolt is energy efficiency. Jolteon needs [L][C] and discard [C][C] for 240, whereas bolt needs [L][F] and discard [C]X4 to match it. With black belt you can also swing for 280, which is a big benchmark. Probably won’t overtake bolt, but definitely has a niche.

I’ve been running that Espathra deck you mentioned. Budew, Headquarters, Xatu, One Energy Azumarril and Mew EX as a draw engine and counter for stone mask ogrepon. The deck bodies things that rely heavy on Basics

I'd argue their sound iteratons on the same concept honestly; as a Raging Bolts main something similar BUT different does sound nice. Also, Jolteon might be able to hit harder considering comparable turn on turn energy placement would let you pop for up to 340 with a low average of 230. In short- both, both is good.

Deck seems to be missing Tera Orb and Crispin. Jolteon and Teal Mask are both Tera cards. The Crispin will allow turn 1 attack going second.

The espathra deck I've seen played a lot is Espathra/Alakazam. Attack from bench while espathra makes their attack cost more.

Why dont you use the newest eevee that has boosted evolution ability? You could get jolteon on already at first turn when you had the electric energy on the active

Ive actually been playing this as well once i was unsatisfied with the Flareon and realized the Jolteon just felt like a more formidable attacker. I don't have cleffa or mew ex, but i do have Terapagos ex, Raikou V, and Forest Seal Stone. Really, the biggest issue is Polt decks since you can't one hit KO without access to water/fire+black belt supporter, so you are stuck trying 2 shot a polt or something idk.

I think the new flareon ex works better in an ogerpon & hydrapple ex deck. Arven for your rare candy and sparkling crystal and burning charge for 1 grass energy while also setting up either of your win conditions.

I have been playing elekid since it first came out due to it being able to snipe just a little 30 in the late game. I always keep a free attacker in my deck. Now budew, elekid or cleffa in my deck always.

honestly, for all the competitive power the eeveelutions lack (not that i think they’re meant to have Any), i think they Do have niches and it’ll be fun to try and make them work with what they can do they’ll be fun cards, their less than stellar (HA.) strength is part of that :]
