Man I feel you on the first game. You can drop Charizard to one card and somehow that one card would be their only copy of Prof Research, from which they hit two rare candies, Pidgeot EX, Char EX and a prime catcher. That deck somehow always ends up with exactly what they need.

its cool seeing glimmora get love, despite it never really being too good. Also cut an ultra ball for a charisma and imma see how it goes, but you should totally do this deck again but make it a more troll/disruption version

Honestly, i can't stand that mentality, that overfixation on charizard as a pokemon, as a deck, because of childhood nostalgia or otherwise. Having a favorite pokemon? Fantastic, love it, tell me all about it, i'll share mine too. But like a billion people on the planet they all like charizard? Get out of here, boring, seen it already, couldn't care less anymore, i don't wanna hear it, tell me something else, had enough of that one already, i'd like some original tastes.

Would you consider replaying a variant of your Scovillain deck? Someone at my locals who plays online has a variant that is aggresive on the disruption. It has some extra cards that make matchups against the likes of Chien-Poa and Goldengo a BREEZE. I've shared a text of the deck below. The best disruption is banette ex. Turn 3, probably have a large hand size like 10 , hand trimmer them to 5, then you ERI, its a stressful day for them. Usually hand trimmer they rid of the unwanted cards, then you eri them, the rare candy and nest ball, gone.

So glad to see you talking about this!! My Glimmora EX deck has been eating on the ladder. I run with Garchomp EX too and this random Altaria that can transfer damage counters to from your mons to your opponent's active and it is too much fun.

Glimmy is an underrated deck. And in fact that zards are mew vmax reincarnated, most zard players hate of being slowed down or their key items are being discarded by trainer cards or effect pokemons. Ionos, Judges, Item locks, Stallers (ahem! Snorlax), devolutions... You name it.

happy to see someone else testing Glim out. played this for awhile. it takes so much work for KOs but its still has potential to be mid tier. damage output is what keeps it from being a legit good deck. but 1 or 2 hammers does make this deck very nice also

Hey, just asking, would you rather only play one deck with minimal changes unless rotation hits or only play against one type of deck with minimal changes to account for rotation (example charizard or future box but you can only play anything that would be considered charizard). If you dont decide both happens

Have you considered trying to do a gyarados EX deck post rotation? I think using something like mismagius to start could make it work, then just pogo blastoise a double turbo and 3 water on it? Idk might be too slow, just a thought tho.

@@AZ-zz4kn Yes hands is definitely a problem, especially because in order to set it up you need a couple turns. That being said maybe you could run hero’s cape to tank a hands hit? Not sure really.

I do wish more content creators saw that, I think some of them think the -30 damage from the psychic types like Iron Crown makes it not as good but I feel like none of them realize that smol Glimmora could not give less of a crap about resistances

*sigh* another person giving up on Glimmora…look, I’ve been playing this card as my main deck since it was released. The Bibarel Skwovet engine is NOT GOOD in this deck, because you need the other Pokemon to defend against its bad matchups (think Mimikyu vs Char, or Grapploct vs anything with big hp)

Also before anyone argues me, Glimmora ex is NOT the main focus of this deck. Glimmora is. Dust field is, as he said, not great against good players. It’s a good tech card though, it’s a good card to use up front or after a few KOs once your opponent commits. Glimmora ex is at least a 1 of, but at most a 2-of. Glimmora focused deck wins more games against more matchups than Glimmora ex focused. Yes, even against Roaring Moon, which he called out as an auto-lose at the end of the video. I’ve played against enough of them, it’s the fastest game you’ll ever have playing the deck but aside from that the only thing making it bad is that Glimmora works on a different decision making axis than most other decks. Card draw like Bibarel is bad, searching cards specifically with Arven, Nest Ball, Buddy Poffin, and Earthen Vessel is better. Disrupting your opponent isn’t as good as normal shuffling like Brassius (or Cynthia’s Ambition if you’re facing stuff that can OHKO the baby Glimmora, no prize card for you up to 8 cards for me, Bibarel wishes) when cards like Iono are always worse for you because Shattering Crystal and Judge doesn’t draw enough cards with the lower number of energy cards you’d be playing (around 10, 11 if you feel you’re getting too bad of luck)

Nest ball feels equal parts not great but also sometimes game-saving. Hero’s Cape is EXCLUSIVELY for Glimmora ex so that it can survive things like Charizard. 2 of those 3 lost vacuums feels kinda bad but at the same time other things I’ve tried like Gutsy Pickaxe or Grant never seem to have any impact, at least this way tool heavy or stadium reliant matchups have a hard time and you can toss extra cards you might not need (why bench Manaphy if no cards hit bench?) Also, do not bench Sandy Shocks until your opponent hits 4 prize cards, it’s way too vulnerable to Boss’s Orders to do it beforehand but using Shocks specifically instead of another Pokemon allows you to recycle energy, which allows you to get away with the low amount without bricking that much Grapploct exists because some things are too tanky to poison or have ridiculous retreat costs, and it’s free KOs on people who don’t read cards. (Plus the 3 energy OHKO on Iron Hands is a funny blindside since they usually read the first attack’s effect and write it off as “my booster capsule can let me escape that.” You’d be amazed how many people just don’t read the Grapploct or don’t have the space to remember it because it’s not meta But also, feel free to mess with ratios, this is far from a perfected deck but it’s winning more games than it’s losing, and vs meta decks being run by competent players too

I have since replaced 2 of those lost vaccums with Roxanne, still have games where it's discard fodder sometimes but when she works the impact feels the best out of all of the other options

What is your opinion on status conditions in the pokemon tcg? I only started playing recently, but to me they seem underpowered, and more of a gimmick than a real strategy.

They're a gimmick because they're obnoxious. If Status was actually relevant you would not be having fun in any way shape or form. Confusion and Sleep are horrendously irritating Status Effects that practically decide games on, generally, a single coin flip if you don't have a way to free retreat. And Poison and Burn doing supplemental damage has historically made or break knockouts. We know all of those things are true by looking at past formats, like B/W era and the incredible prevalence of Hypnotoxic Laser being in virtually every single deck. You could argue that "whats the difference if everyone just one-hit ko's?", but even now there are a bunch of decks that don't just oh-ko every turn. Instead they have some special gimmick they're focusing on while also trying to kill you in two hits. I'd much rather they do something silly only they can do as opposed to still two shotting my active, BUT ALSO confusing it forcing me to pivot or flip a coin and effectively skip my attack, swamping my tempo. TL;DR Confusion, Sleep, and Paralysis are not a fun gameplay mechanic. They never have been and we figured that out decades ago.

Poison are burn need to be reworked. They were designed in a game where 120Hp was a lot and if your Pokemon's attack did 50 or more damage there was usually a drawback. It's outdated and is the only thing that isn't being powercrept into the game.

Yo FTW, i think the reason you were struggling with the Arceus deck was that your deck didnt have enough disruption cards such as Eri, Xerosic, Hammer and Grabber i use this deck with those 4 cards and most of the times, those meta decks are clueless on how to progress as i can take out a lot of their tech cards. try a deck with involving Eri, Xerosic, Hammer and Grabber, and let me know again what you feel about it.. i dont play Online, but i do play offline with this deck, and i kid you not, this is actually a pretty decent deck to even compete in a league.

My guy try switching to only 2 ex and 4 of the baby glimmora. Also run 4 ERI and 4 hand trimmer. I also run a 2-2 line of clobbopus and graploct. It's a menacing deck at locals on Thursday I took out all 4 zards running around in the room.

i feel like if you want try out any Stage 2 Pokemon that is NOT Charizard ex, you should at least also try out Glimmora ex as a supporting Pokemon. It is a good starter that reduce the effectiveness of Future and Ancient box decks, while you scrabble to setup and evolve your Pokemon. Unfortunately, due to many decks including anti-Charizard ex Grass Pokemon, things can get nasty very fast 😅

Right out of all underused starter they just straight print another greninja while recently released greninja ex last set that nobody ask. Making it overpowered that only cost 1-2 energy wtf. You can see the favouritism even the radiant cards, zard and greninja is the most functional and meta. Sigh I'm hoping for gen 2 starter ex

@@100nadzmi now decks will need to play manaphy, because of the overpowered new greninja ex. But this new greninja is probably created just for iron hands deck, Iron hands is a bully.
