FTX is such great value for money or bang for your buck. Nice to see the DR8 getting some love, makes me want to treat mine to some hop ups as well as adding a new FTX model to the 3 I already have.

Great update - where exactly did you put that washer for the brace?

Pause vid at exactly 4.00mins and you will see silver spacer to the left of the brace …. If you put it on the right the brace will touch the central drive shaft

Just got one of these for the channel and 10 mins in we broke the rear suspension pin bracket. Gutted as nowhere local has them in stock... Gonna have to order online and postpone filming Subbed BTW I see you are fairly local, we should meet up with the DR8s 😉

What upgrades are already on the V2 DR8 versus the original V1? Does the V2 already have aluminium shock towers?

Custom rc upgrades sell the billet alloy hinge pin braces and titanium towers for these now

Hi… can I ask if all the original screws etc are used with the upgrade shock towers? My rear one has bent so might as well get a nice red one… but I don’t want to find that I need different screws (which was the case with one of my banggood cars) thanks!

Ftx is good in that if you need different screws they provide them in the part normally When upgrading from plastic to aluminium I do find a dab of loctite helps stop screws working their way loose.

It has adjustable felcro strap so I put 2x voltz 3s batteries in it when running 6s but normally run it on 3s so 1 battery

@@PopalongRC I didn't notice anything then went to give it a clean down and then used it the next day and all wheels where locked up, started a strip down and the centre diff gears where seized melted plastic😔

Most cars I run on 6s are very quick which means lots of space needed… tend to stick with3s a scar is more drivable

I just fitted my red metal rear swing arm bracket. Did anybody else find that the holes don’t ‘quite’ match up with the originals? The two long bolts that go through the diff casing had to be tapped in with a hammer, the holes definitely do not align perfectly, but only very slightly. Also I’m pretty sure the spacing between the swing arm pin holes seems slightly wider, so it’s going to create a little bit of ‘toe in’ on the rear. To be honest that’s ok with me. I imagine if you replace the bracket at the front of the diff as well the spacing will match and there wouldn’t be any toe in. Over all I’m happy if it’s stronger and doesn’t break but for £13 I’d expect something to be manufactured to tighter tolerances.

cant say I had this issue with mine but I know how frustrating it is when things don't slot together perfectly...I have had similar problems with other cars in the past but always ended up being that I had bento or buckled other components and not noticed originally

@kasimmohammed6383 cheap option is change gearing But then the car could be prone to over heating so then add a fan Lower ride height and change for more aerodynamic shell Changing wheels and tyres will give better traction We found at about 60mph the tyre expand and this impacts on steering Better batteries will provide more power Faster motor and more powerful esc also could up performance We mostly ran them on 3-4s as this was the sweet spot on handling and performance Faster it goes the harder it is to drive
