We waited for 2019 when Amaechi was minister and eating with Buhari. 2019 came and went, Wike remained Governor even with all the federal presence during the 2019 elections, the people of Rivers won, and Wike remained in power. I threw my support for the governor when I saw a video of a certain LG chairman disrespecting and insulting the governor. That, to me, amounted to insulting the entire state. However, the governor should thread with caution. He should be mindful of his utterances and actions. He should also not allow the struggle to assume an ethnic dimension. He already enjoys the support of the majority of the people of the state cutting across all ethnic groups. Lastly, he should work for the people and ensure the dividend of democracy gets to the people of the state. If he does these, he will win the hearts of his people and ultimately any battle he may face

These Governors in Nigeria, all of them needs to be stripped off this power they have over LGs. The constitution does not recognize caretaker committee for LGs, also the SC has ruled against this. I think the LGs should have full autonomy. Their alloc8should he direct from FAAC to their accounts. The Governors should have no power or influence over them.

The former local government whose tenure expired are all part of Wike's structure. If Fubara had conducted elections while they were still in office, they would all win. An outcome Fubara doesn't want. This is not the first time this has happened. When Wike became governor, he did not immediately conduct local government election. He had caretaker chairmen before Conducting elections so as to remove Ameachi's men and put his own people. This took one year. Politics is a game and a fight for relevance. Wike wants to remain relevant in the Politics of Rivers State because that is the only way he will be useful to Tinubu in the next election in 2027. Simple
